I would love to go to Japan next month. I don't think it's a financial possibility, so much though. I totally miss the food and atmosphere though, plus I'd love to see Aizu :)

I'm just starting to learn how to use Praat in analysing instances of assimilation and needed to slow down the speech in some of the connected phrases. This helped immensely. Thank you!

I'm also an instructor at the University of Aizu. I'm trying to manipulate the pitch of my recording and happened to find this video.

excuse me; can you tell me how I can modify the mean pitch and not just a point? I mean, is it possible?

Hi. At 7:37 of the video, I very quickly mention "Shift frequencies..." in the Modify menu (when you have selected a PitchTier object. That will modify ALL frequencies in the time range that you specify.

Ian Wilson thanks a lot!!

@@ianwilsonaizu That did work, but if you start with the pitch tier, you're not starting with the same sound, you're starting with the distilled pitch. This can't be used, for example, to make a voice sound lower. Is Praat just not the tool for that sort of manipulation?

Hi Professor. A little question. I would like to modify formant value inside wowels. Has sense this operation?
