The climax is absolutely astonishing or even astounding for that matter only because it’s unexpected of a character that’s a selfish joker(Bhairava) to save the day when the serious stronger character(Ashwathama) fails to do so ultimately making the former one the lead protagonist & the more stoic latter one a mere side-kick relatively! Especially when it’s a huge suspense whether the joker(Prabhas as Bhairava) will be Kaal Bhairav, Kalki or ultimately Karna(as shown in the film) with various Easter egg throughout the film for the pay off in the very end of the movie. It’s a great mix of cheaply but cheeky slapstick comedy with a serious undertone from the dystopian backdrop showcasing the dark gritty journey of Amitabh’s character at the very beginning of the film. The screenplay is more nuanced than just typecasting a character one dimensionally rather than seeing the transformation throughout the whole story because it’s the essence of the plot to begin with which later pays off in a mind blowing manner!
