Hi, great video thanks. I agree with you about the steering. When I picked my car up (UK) a couple of weeks ago I was convinced there was a problem with the steering, it was/is far too light and didn't feel at all safe. So glad you have outlined your thoughts on the steering and convinced me that it's not my imagination. However, I'm delighted with my M2 overall and was one of a small minority who actually loved the car from my first on-line view over a year ago. Thanks

Thank you for watching the video 😃 What you saying the steering being too light can be adjusted by going to M2 mode or changing the steering to sport plus. My feedback is that the steering is not as connected feeling as the Porsche. I don’t feel unsafe with the M2 steering at all 😃🙌

Hi, thanks for getting back to me, agreed I should probably have used your analogy of not feeling connected. I haven't played around with any of the other settings yet but of all the other cars I've driven in my 50 odd year driving experience this is the first car I have experienced that gives me the impression of being disconnected with the road but I'm sure I will get used to it. Another thing that has disappointed me is the lack of blind spot warning in the side mirror which although described in the drivers manual isn't an option on my car. I find that surprising given all the other safety features that are included as I would rate the blind spot warning as the most useful. BMW tut tut!@@thedevthing

You even said it has potential after it's lowered, with aero kit and rims, thus acknowledging that the car doesn't look good, almost as if those are prerequisites.

I actually love it. The chunky funky look... The aero kit makes it look more complete. I love the Zandvoort blue also , because I have a Veloster N in performance blue which is very similar to the Zblue. Wheel color is perfect. I'd love to get one at some point. Looks awesome!!! I had a bimmer years ago, A 2000 2.8L Z3 in Atlantic Blue I bought in 2003 was fun to drive. Had it 6 years.

Super solid video. Have had my G87 for roughly a month now - and thoroughly enjoying it compared to my previous M340i. Way different beast. I am also waiting out on exhaust options for the car - in particular, waiting for AWE's offering to come out. They had a great sounding exhaust for the M340i. As for my personal mods, I've just got yellow DRL's and a carbon spoiler that arrived (yet to be installed) and I am thinking I need a front splitter + springs next to really complete the look of the car. Eventually, I'd love to do a full body kit but that ADRO kit is above my paygrade for now (I'm 27 and live in the Bay Area, it's fucking pricy here!).

@@thedevthing In my experience with all my past BMW's, downpipes have never added drone it's usually the exhaust itself that can drone. Hopefully another local g87 owner with an exhaust setup will let you hear it!

My Brother has a G87 M2 in red coming soon with a manual. We are in Australia PS The brake problem. I have warned my Bro already. I heard it's got something to do with rust on the brake pads from to long on the ship. No idea how true. PS Love your M2 content. I'm one that loves the new M2 look but still admits that the F87 was better overall. The Net just went overboard like always.😎

Thats awesome. Congrats to your brother. The brake issue, I don't see rust being a thing as these cars are assembled in Mexico and to get to Canada/US its transported by road. So I don't see the correlation with that. Hope BMW will investigate the issue and root cause it. 😃

Amazing looking car. Btw, this caliper issue seems to be more common. I’ve seen a number of people have failure with them. GT3 RS is brutal for road driving, I’d always suggest if you’re not tracking get a standard GT3

Surprisingly the Gt3RS is very compliant on the roads. It eats up the bumps really well. Car is very predictable. 🙌😃 GT3RS is on track a couple of times a year and it’s a blast 😃🙌

Lol my garage is also a Zandvoort Blue M2 but a Riviera Blue GT4 RS. We have similar taste 😄That said, I daily'ed the 4RS for 2.5 months while waiting for the M2 to come in. The steering feels so numb compared to the Porsche. The more I drive it the more I like it but still it's an adjustment.

Congrats on you M2. I didn’t want the vent inserts yet. The radiators have protection on manual cars already. The auto does not have radiator protection

@@thedevthingthe transmission cooler protects the radiator in the auto, although now the transmission cooler is exposed🤷🏼‍♂️. You can see it on my channel where I show it up close (delivery day vid). Still no clue why BMW didn’t install some sort of plastic hive pattern protection like they do on some other cars, one can only assume engineering knew what they were doing with air flow needs.

I love how comfortable this car is when needed and really don’t want to lose that, since I daily drive my car. You find the M2 to have a comfortable ride? Compared to what exactly? I find it quite stiff and I've had quite a few stiff suspension sports cars.

@@Japplesnap in comfort mode, it drives like a dream. Can drive for hours and not feel tired. Can drive hard in sports mode in backroads pulling 1g+, and not feel exhausted. This suspension is extremely dialed in.

Thank you. KW might have been slightly more comfortable than the cobra. But honestly I find both equally in ride quality. I drive it I comfort now. I would say it feels somewhere in between sport and comfort with the stock suspension 😃

Nice video. The one thing that ticks me off about BMW with the G87 is why not listen to us owners and futures owners (I have one on order) and just swap out the manual box for the Toyota manual box in the Supra. It's exactly the same transmission a little reworked with Toyota magic and it so much better than BMWs. Also BMW has had now plenty of time to work on their electric steering and yet they are still way behind Porsche's. Why? At the very least they should be closer with road feel. Those two things IMO keep this car from being borderline magical. As it is, it's one of the biggest bargains in the sport/GT car world in a long long time.

Do it 😂 No spacers required. I added them to the stock wheels to give it a more aggressive stance. If you just lower the car on stock wheels, it will be fine. No spacers needed.

I must admit the car lowered, with the M performance parts, and custom wheels looks great. Much better than stock. Im wondering however why not just get the M4? Its not like it ways any more, they both have the same weight, and its more power.

I'd take the M2 over the M3 or M4 just because of the horrible grille on those two cars. People said it would grow on me. It hasn't. The M2 looks really good though.

🙌😃 the G8X m3/m4 looks great lowered with some nice wheels. It seem like the case with any car stock. Once you mod it, it truly starts to shine. Having such variety or cars is a good thing IMO 😃🙌 What looks amazing in our eyes might be the opposite in another and vice versa 😃🙌

Maybe you'll replace the G87 M2 with an older car I went to a 997 C2 to modify after getting out of an early M2 which was great, I dont miss anything modern and I have a 991.1 GT3 as well and love the older 997 just as much after a few tweaks. My next car will beholder again

This was my initial thinking. I could not a 997 that appealed to me. I previous had a 997.2 GTS and that has set the bar for my next 997 🤦‍♂️ So it’s going to be a waiting game, till then the M2 fills the void 😃

Yes the GTS would be tough to beat if you dont go for the GT3, not sure two GT3's is the right decision, but interesting though ! I've added new arms, bushes KWV3, Forged rims, X Pipe, qucikshift and a few other tweaks to get it more of a GT/C2 cross and although less power its still a nice drive and the 3.6 is quite revvy@@thedevthing

No unfortunately no. It will be kept in the garage through the winter 😃 The Quattro in the RS5 is much better for winter duty

I just got a 2024 G87 and I want to mod it, yet i don’t want to void my warranty. How do u know what voids and what doesn’t void the warranty?

It really depends. Modding the engine is auto warranty void. Wheels are safe, suspension is safe because you can get the stock ones out back into. But BMW sells their own M-performance lowering springs, so you could so that without any worry.
