In this video Ryan works certain drills that he found helps establish a good fundamental foundation with a carbine. The end goal of these drills are to ensure the principles are still ingrained. His priorities of focus are reaction time, recoil management, reloads and in this case, utilizing his optical set up to its fullest abilities.

You are absolutely slapping that trigger without even observing the dot for your up drills. Just point shooting as fast as you can haphazardly orient the rifle somewhat horizontal. There is no learning here. Genuinely stark contrast from the quality of instruction Caylen and Phil are known for.

Poor mount, shitty up drills at 5 yds on a full A zone, slow 1 r 2s. How about you try something challenging? 25 yd bill drill in under 1.5 seconds with all alphas.

@@EpsteinNooseSolutions781 That gun is taking him for a ride on the splits drill. You can get away with a shitty connection to the gun at 5 yds, even at .12 splits. You can't get away with it at 25 yds. I routinely shoot sub 1.4 bill drills at 25 yds with 5+ alphas, sub .15 splits with a Knights 11.5 upper. If he showed his hits it would be a disaster.

@@paperoversteel8166 lmao dude for 1 you have no proof. 2 it’s what’s called shooter preference. You think the old CAG guys rockin aimpoint 5000s on their carry handles couldn’t shoot well? You’re crazy

@@EpsteinNooseSolutions781 When he says mount he means rifle to shoulder connection/recoil control. I'd have to agree though. Not bad for a random dude but not exactly what I would expect from an instructor.

I'm asking these sincerely, and there is no disrespect implied or intended. 1) Is the goal of the first drill (up drill) to get the shot off as fast as possible? I ask because there seems to be no follow through, and the gun is pulled off target and safety put on immediately. Is this merely a very fast point shooting attempt? 2) In the 2nd drill, is the object to see how fast shot splits are? I ask because the initial shot is 2-3 times slower than in the 1st drill. Would it be more practical to get a quick first hit and also have the following shots hit the target with the same (or close) split times? 3) In 1R1 drills, would it be better to do it with an unknown number of rounds in the mag? In my own practice of this, we seem to "game" it because we know exactly where the reload is. If it is merely to practice the reload, I get it. 4) Is trigger freeze happening because of tension in the hand/s? That's what happens when most people get it. 5) In future videos, can we get an angle where we can see both the shooter and the target? I think that would help in assessing how things not being done "perfectly" affect where the rounds impact on target. Thanks for the video.
