This is probably too trivial, but I would like to mention anyway. Working nights, longer hours or even in weekends aren't something that everyone can do longer term without negative consequences. I know many who have first enter work-life and been eager to benefit from higher salaries by doing weekends, nights.. Most people seem to find that longer term such life is too much. They can develop health difficulties or social symptoms that become difficult enough for them to start avoiding unusual working hours. There are exceptions. Some actually prefer to work at nights and do only night shifts. I have heard warning stories of how some immigrants have made their lives unnecessarily difficult by concentrating first too much on making money and not enough to their studies, wellbeing and finding ways to integrate to the society.
@PaarthsPopUpStudio3 жыл бұрын
Night shifts are part of the job, even if you hate it or love it. It's not just money but work ethics, too. The job needs to get done! And because it is harder, you get paid for it more! It's one's own duty to look after his/her wellbeing and health and keep a work - life balance. And that applies to all professions!

@@prashanthm9194 It is a market economy where prices and salaries vary and aren't dictated by municipalities. Some municipalities call them self towns, which many English speakers for various reasons call cities, which originally had different meanings. Basic salaries in different industries is defined by the agreements between labor and industry organisations. There is legislation that makes such agreements legally binding for all. Local labor market situation will effect salaries, since living costs are higher in some areas and demand for labor can be higher. So each employer needs to make salaries attractive enough. But salaries aren't the only relevant thing, not at all. Practicing nurses are a bit special case, as all people who are practicing. Longer term the other factors become more important, I would say. Many nurses have left, even to other jobs, because they have felt burned up or been disappointed to some workplaces.

Since you are studying to become a practical nurse you probably haven't been too concerned about what in Finnish is hoitajamitoitus. It's the way how on average organization estimates how many care givers are needed per customer or patent. This has been hot potato in Finland. Regulatory demands and guidelines are getting stricter forcing employees to hire more care givers, which should make working less difficult and stressful. Do you have any thoughts about this? Could you compare working conditions in Finland and other places in this respect?
@PaarthsPopUpStudio3 жыл бұрын
I did not know about this term "hoitajamitoitus". Thanks for mentioning. This is a very good thing that the regulatory guidelines are getting stricter. This will definitely improve employee's work well-being as well as quality of care and service for the clients and customers. I haven't got any nursing experience myself from other countries but it would be a nice thing to have a comparative outlook in this regard.

Usually nursing studies include also finnish studies. Because it is important learn finnish that you would get work after graduation. There might be minority finnish lessons at Uni so it’s really important that you use your finnish skill everyday life and try to get finnish friends and listen radio, tv and take some extra finnish studies from some other schools. Practical nurses studies is better way to learn language. But good luck your studies and getting work after graduation. 👍

Hello ma'am, how did you learn Finnish language? How long it takes to speak Finnish fluently?
@PaarthsPopUpStudio3 жыл бұрын
Hi Nisha, I went to an intensive language course for almost 9 months. It really depends on the learner how easily he or she can learn learn a new language. The target level of one year(excluding holidays) of intensive Finnish course is B2 or an intermediate level. But depending on the learner, one may achieve advanced level of Finnish skills or may reach upto A2. But one important thing is you don't have to be fluent like the natives for work and study. So do not stress much about it.

If you take the immersive method and stay in a Finnish speaking environment using only Finnish for year, you might be surprised how much you have learned. Some say that for learning French requires you to have a french lover. That could help with Finnish too 😉

@just42tube3 ай бұрын
Bachelor's degree in Healthcare, Nursing, is the lower degree in higher education. It opens educational paths to higher degrees in higher education up to doctoral degrees. It opens career paths at all levels. Bachelor of healthcare is the required degree for becoming a registered nurse in Finland. That alone gives many opportunities for working in different roles in health care and specialization areas. Vocational education is secondary level or upper secondary level education. It gives a professional qualification and makes a person indirectly eligible for applying into higher education study programs, meaning bachelor's degree study programs.

@@shownkhan4654 If you look at the requirements for getting a residence permit for studies in Finland, it includes the requirement to show proof of sufficient funds for paying tuition fees for a year and living expenses 520 € for each month for a year. That would be in your situation 9000 + 12 x 520, which makes 15240 €.
