I wish they had play packs when my girls where younger. I used to bring crayons to the doctors and let them draw on the white paper they put on the bed/table. The doctors don’t mind and it helps pass the waiting time in the room.

I think installing cool Christmas ideas is important for children so when they have children they keep those traditions and cool Christmas ideas

We actually do both a December 1st box and a Christmas Eve box. On December 1st, our elf brings Christmas PJs, Christmas coloring books and crafts, the gingerbread house kits, a big thing of hot chocolate and recipes for cookies along with a new ornament to hang on the tree and any advent calendars we do (usually a chocolate on and a lego one) on Christmas Eve, the elf brings the box back and in it is another pair of pajamas (not Christmas themed, this is just how I do giving my son his winter pajamas for the year lol) a mug, the individual hot chocolate packet, popcorn, 2 books, which are the same 2 books every year....the story of the first Christmas and ‘Twas the night before Christmas which we always read right before he goes to bed, grinch repellent which is just sugar that we use green food coloring on and take outside and spread it around our house so the grinch doesn’t come in and steal Christmas, and reindeer food which is oatmeal with red glitter so the reindeer can find their way to our yard, Santa’s magic key, a couple of crafts, one small present, some snacks and we used to do a movie but with Netflix, Disney plus and digital downloads, we stopped that this year. So nothing extravagant, just something that he needs either way and snacks we would normally get. We just end up putting it in either the December first box or the Christmas Eve box.

We normally give our boys there's right before bed too. But i think we're going to do it when we get home from Church Christmas Eve morning. We always do pjs, hot chocolate, popcorn, and movies. This year I added a Christmas book and a blanket. My older two got robes that came with their pjs this year. And I bought some little slippers for the youngest.

Love the blanket idea. Sounds like they will have a wonderful cozy Christmas Eve.

aw R.I.P Blockbuster! haha this year is my first year doing Elf on the Shelf and I have tote bags that will have a blanket, chocolate candy cane, water bottle and a small gift that our elf will leave as a thank you for having him. haha. maybe next year I may try the box! haha my kids first named the elf Santa but thankfully renamed Snickers and stuck! haha

Santa....Too funny! 😂. Aww I love this idea...our elf has taken a tumble twice so far so I am not sure he is too happy with us and would be willing to leave the girls anything as a thank you! Maybe they will be better hosts next year! 😉

I just found your channel and I think it is great! This will be my first year doing a box and I think I will do it the week leading up to Christmas so they have more time to use what we put in the box. My kids are 3 and 17 months. We are also doing the kindness elves and an advent calendar for the first time.

Cute book! Those will make for some wonderful keepsakes. For Christmas Eve I think I am just going to give my daughter pjs because we are going to a family party and we will be getting home late. I may give her the ornament I picked out for her this year. I like to get her an ornament every year that reminds her of her interests for that year. This year it is Elena from Disney Junior.

Thanks! Sounds like a good plan. My daughters love Elena of Avalor too!

We do a christmas eve box every year, it's one of my favorite presents to put together! This year they're getting pajamas, slippers, a movie, hot cocoa, popcorn and a sticker book from usborne books. The slippers were a new edition this year and i normally bought christmas pajamas, books and movies but this year i tried to get stuff my kids would be interested in year round.
@PracticallyPoshLife7 жыл бұрын
That sounds like a great Christmas Eve Box, I am sure your kids will love it! I too am trying to get things they will like year round. I didn’t know Usborne had sticker books! I will have to check that out! Thanks for watching and sharing!

I also baught him a build a bear. I did give him his on Dec 1st so that he could enjoy everything. Hoho his elf left it for him.

Hoho the elf...I love it! I didn’t know Hallmark had personalized books, I will have to check it out. Socks and a bear are also really good ideas that I don’t have....I may add those.

We give it on Christmas Eve as a going away gift from the elves. We give it at night because it is sort of something to look forward to after Christmas Eve mass.
@PracticallyPoshLife7 жыл бұрын
Thanks so much! That makes sense to give as a treat after mass. I am still deciding on a good time of day to give it...Probably won’t figure it out until the day of.

I loved your idea of having them open a Christmas Eve box with hot coco, popcorn, movies, etc. I think I'm going to copy your idea when my daughter is a bit older so she'll understand. I also love the personalized book!! Thanks so much for this video, it gave me some really great ideas!! I'm sure your family will have a wonderful Christmas. This is going to be our first Christmas as parents, but it will also be sad that our families won't be around to celebrate it with us; they're in Brazil and we live in the U.S. now, so it'll be just the three of us and I need to start new traditions because everything we used to do in Brazil is just not going to work here, especially because it'll be just us. What did you do to celebrate Christmas when you had only one baby?
@PracticallyPoshLife7 жыл бұрын
Congratulations on your new baby and celebrating your first Christmas as a family of 3! It was just the 3 of us on our first Christmas and since she was only 2 weeks old we didn’t travel to visit anyone that year. You’re daughter will still be too young to know what is going on but I remember that we still dressed our daughter in cute Christmas pajamas, baked cookies, played Christmas music and watched movies that day. Depending on how old she is you can still do a Christmas Eve Box and maybe put a Christmas onesie to wear the next day in it and maybe pick out a special ornament the reminds you of your first Christmas with her. For our first few years as parents we had no family locally but we did our best to make our own traditions and memories. Also take a picture of the 3 of you that day, it’s important that you capture that special memory because time flies. I hope this helps!

Hi everyone who has been doing what I got my kids for Christmas and what I got my kids in their stockings some of you have mentioned Santa Claus and your beliefs about it they will find out in school as they get older that there is a Santa Claus it's going to be hard to not tell them but mind you it's at your discretion and I don't think anyone should tell you either way what you should do about your children learning about Santa Claus my mom didn't deprive me of learning about Santa Claus when I was little because to this day I still believe things have happened in my life at Christmas time that no one would ever believe people have given me things that I would not ask for sometimes I'm going to the store and ask how much something is at Christmas time that I would say I'd come back later to get it when I get more money or something to that effect so I still believe in Santa and I'm almost 53 years old I know that there are good people in the world you must teach your children that there are good people that may be there beliefs of Santa Claus is different from everyone else and I say that's okay too because some people have Hanukkah some people are Jewish and they have Hanukkah and then there's other people that don't have Christmas at all so what I'm trying to say is take it to your own destruction of what you feel your children should know what are you are a Christian or not it's at your discretion I don't think anyone should tell a parent what they should do about their children's wanting to be learning about Santa Claus or not wanting to learn but I honestly think that if you tell them and don't lie to them and tell them that other children believe there is a Santa Claus so you will hear it in the schools and you will hear it in other places so what I'm saying is do what you think is best for your children no one knows your children but you and you're the one that needs to set the record straight for each child good luck to you all of you and Merry Christmas to every single one of you who ever showed these videos I think it is great that you are showing what you are giving your children thank you and have a great night everyone

I’m new to this tradition. R they supposed to open it early morning?
@PracticallyPoshLife6 жыл бұрын
I usually have them open it towards the end of the day on Christmas Eve, but it’s really up to you. Depending on what you put in it, it may make more sense to do it in the morning so they have more time to enjoy it.
