Oh thank you for showing me this. I have wanted to try some jazz for awhile now and was not sure about the scales to use.

How do you figure what to practice? How did you start learning jazz?

Great question! I try to practice what my teacher taught me in the lesson that week. It helps me to lock stuff in. There are 100s of jam tracks out there to practice to. Sometimes I pick one for the mood im in, but in this case, my teacher recommended this 2-5-1 track to practice pentatonic conversions. I also sometimes choose a scale I need to work on and go from there. I didn’t intend to learn Jazz at first, but once I learned the Gmaj7 and Cmaj7, I was totally intrigued. I have a long way to go, and am enjoying the journey and process. It’s a great genre to learn music and the guitar. Have fun with your studies!

If you haven't done it yet, I highly recommend that you contact a teacher. Pay attention to the position of your hands. Left and right. The left hand often pinches the strings in the wrong place. Vibrato!!! What is this? It's awful) Work on the rhythm separately. It's ragged. Use a metronome to work on it. and when you move your left hand don't do it slides along the outer surface of the strings. You need control over unnecessary dirt. If you work on the basics, you will develop very quickly. You can do it!!! Sorry for my English))) Rock 'n' roll 🎸🎸🎸🤘🤘🤘
