Shadowing is a great way to practice your pronunciation, prosody, grammar and so much more, but the key is knowing what to focus on. When you focus on EVERYTHING, you focus on NOTHING!

That interesting, I know it as mirroring, ( someone mirror, intonation, rhythm, pitch from someone to speak in same level. Even gesture, considering human body has powerful synestesy.
