In this video I will read a text so you can practice your Spanish comprehension skills. You will learn many Spanish verbs, nouns, adjectives and adverbs - in context. I used a text written by a Spanish native speaker so that you see how naturally the Spanish language flows. This video will not only help you learn to understand oral Spanish, but will also help you speak Spanish in an idiomatic way. With this video I hope to help you understand Spanish when your hear it. While reading the text I will take the opportunity to go over some terms, phrases, and verbs that are important not only in this story, but in the Spanish language world. This type of class will improve your vocabulary and grammar while also helping your pronunciation and understanding.

I studied Spanish as 3rd mandatory language in middle school in France 35 yrs ago. Now i live in the U.S, it's an excellent opportunity to review and refresh my memory (in French we have same nightmare in conjugation, gender, grammar). Our teacher was like you, very passionate and humorous. She encouraged us to fundraise and had enough to money to discover Madrid for 1 week. Thanks

Another great lesson, 72 year old cancer patient still trying to learn Espanol, live in SOFLO. After the EVIL C took my ears it's very difficult to continue, Spanish is spoken sooo quickly me no comprende. Not fun to read Spanish ergo asta la vista babeee!

We would either load onto a ship or unload from a ship. Downloading implies computer stuff. But your english is excellent and I think you probably already know this. With all my respect…there was one part of the video where you talk about descargar/“download” and the English word should be “unload”. For better clarification: We unload cargo and download information. I’m now a subscriber.

That is the case in English, we would say unload but in Spanish unload and download both can be translated in Spanish as descargar. Kinda crazy but that is true.

Hello Ana. Nice to see you again. I like your videos. I used to teach graduate level classes. You're a great teacher. My first language is English. I studied Spanish in high school but have not spoken Spanish for so long so I need help. My mother and her brother are from Mexico City, their father fought in the revolution and his parents came from Madrid to Mexico. So it's in my blood. I've been to Mexico and Central America numerous times and I love Mexican culture but having been born and raised in the US, Spanish doesn't come naturally. I'm working on it. This is Mexican spanish. In Spain , we don't say el radio, we say la radio. We don't say prender we say encender and so on. We can understand them though but it's not the normal way in Spain

To anyone who has trouble keeping up sometimes, like the beginning: turn on closed captions! They're very useful here! Don't worry, you still get to enjoy the wonderful Ana! I find it useful to pause after Ana speaks, then speak it myself from the captions. Of course that is the "easy" way, and your goal should be to comprehend Spanish from the sound only.
