@@hariprasanthk7636 no Kalari payat is the oldest And mother of all martial arts. Adimurai the tamil version of Kalari payat. In kannada called "garadi" Sreelanka called "ankapora"

This is a clear indication that Indian Govt must consider Merging all the different Martial Arts in to a Single system. Since majority of Indian Martial Arts are quite similar this won't be a major challenge. Just like different Martial Arts like Judo, Karate, Taekwondo, Wushu etc got developed from Combat Arts the same needs done for Indian Martial Arts. Indian Martial Arts can be divided in to 4-main disciplines of :- (1) "Indian Wrestling" with elements of Judo & BJJ. It must become the most complete "Grappling Sport". (2) "Vermukai or Adithada" with elements of Karate, Kickboxing, Muay Thai & Lethwei. It must become an Indian equivalent to Chinese "Sanda". (3) "Varma Kalai" as an essential but advance component of both (1) & (2). (4) " Indian Weapons" for both Performance & Sparing with elements from Kendo & Eskrima. The knowledge of following Weapons must be imparted :- (a) Staff (lathi) (b) Sticks (Short & Medium) (c) Spears & Lances (d) Mace & Clubs (e) Knives & Daggers (f) Swords & Shield (g) Archery (Traditional & Olympic) (h) Whip & Rope (i) Chakram & Shuriken (j) Bagh Naka & Kunckledusters (k) Otta Similarly, the knowledge of following discipline must be imparted to Students of Govt Schools for Physical & Mental well being:- (1) Yoga (2) Meditation (3) Mallakhamb & Gymnastics (4) Calisthenics + Traditional Indian Physical Exercises ( Dand, Mudgar, Mace, Gar Nal etc.)

No need to combine Kalaripayattu with other martial art. In Kalaripayattu itself there are different styles. If combined some styles will die. And Kalaripayattu is not simply thought to anybody other than basics. You can combine other martial arts if you want though.

@@CJ-ud8nf Kalaripyattu is a performance based arts but it has No full-cotact Sparring system. The other systems of Kalaripyattu are also only performance based but lacks the practical usage elements that have been tried & tested through Sparring.
