hello! check out my latest short to hear the better result of this practice session. but here's a more realistic view of practicing and not sounding my best lol. i haven't played in weeks so i'm not too mad at it though. whats your favorite tuning to play in?

I have a guitar playing friend that says he wants to play a song that's recognizable! I said nothing, but thought his goal seems to be set a rather low bar. ;-) (Whatever ;-)) Your tune/playing here is, of course, more that recognizable...It's good...and will smooth out even more as you practice. Thanks for posting

@ thank you! also lol hey setting the bar lower sometimes keeps things feeling more achievable, i don't blame him. guitar isn't necessarily my strong suit so wishing him luck!

@@banjodaze You are right...don't ever think about giving up or slowing down.... Angeline the Baker still kicks by butt ;-) I put It aside and come back like a moth to a flame...still don't have the rhythm. ;-) "Everybody" plays it, but my favorite by far is "Sarah Nichols - Angeline the Baker"...from her video one can imagine how many times she must have played the thing! Playing Angeline like Sarah is my high level goal or Standard. I reckon! Anyway, you have the right stuff...we enjoy your post and your music.

I've recently fallen in love with sawmill tuning, which is just raising the second string a half step to C! It adds a kind of haunting, suspenseful sound to the open strums.

Beginner? Lady, you already have a feel for the pull and place. You can't teach that. You're a natural.

@@banjodaze Naw, just a fact. You'll see. You might be learning the words of a new musical language, but what you're saying comes from inside. How you voiced the strings told me that. Be well. And I hope you become successful beyond your wildest imaginings.

That's pretty! I learned The Blackest Crow in CC tuning. What tuning do you usually play?
@banjodaze6 күн бұрын
@@BanjoRose_down-picker I learned a bunch in G mostly. I know a couple that aren't, like some in G modal. But right now I'm really focusing on CC for the first time.

@@banjodaze Anything that you learn in CC tuning you could play in DD by putting the capo on the 2nd fret and tuning the strings to a,D,A,D,E. Fiddlers like this tuning because of how their fiddle is set up, so when you play in a jam, you might have to change the tuning to DD.
