📺 ABOUT THIS VIDEO:
Do you ever struggle to connect different pentatonic scale positions across the fretboard?
Then watch this video, because Steve’s going to show you a technique called “meandering” that will get your hands and your brain working together with what you’re seeing on the fretboard.
Now, this is different than “improvising” or “jamming,” because you’re not trying to create music at this point. You’re just “brainlessly” moving between scale positions, so you can get comfortable moving around to the fretboard.
Watch the video and give it a try... and don’t forget to comment!

Of all the so called guitar tutors on KZbin, I've never given any particular praise to any of them..Steve is an exception.. He is literally giving you all the best secrets that most of us old timers had to learn the hard way.

This is the single most productive lesson for those of you that are ready to break out and free solo or improvise.. I prefer a backing track to a metronome but Steve is giving you the best advice for learning how to solo over the scale positions. When I learn new scale patterns, I get a diagram of the entire fret board showing every pattern in the scale. Then I start by doing exactly what Steve is talking about . I then start creating phrases in each scale pattern and then ascend and descend the neck and the patterns until I know the scale positions inside and out. Never try to learn specific artist solos without understanding the keys and scales they are written in first. Trying to imitate solos by just learning single notes will teach you nothing and only give you a big headache. ..Great job Steve.
