Well, of course Mrs. Quince turned out adorable (and well-healed)! She even stands on her own …. Very impressive!❣️And I adore her ponytail! Honestly, we are sisters from different mothers, Dot! Hearing you say, “I’m trying to think of videos I’ve watched on wigging without actually watching them!” I plead “guilty” as well! I always think … I’ll definitely come back and watch this! Then, when I actually go to make it, I typically don’t! I just try and …. fail and try … and fail … and then, in frustration, do eventually … go back and watch it! Hahaha! It’s all about my patience pants! They simply are missing from my closet! Which, wouldn’t be so bad, if I had your talents to “wing it” and succeed as well as you always do! I truly am fascinated watching you repair and make a wig! Never have I ever … and likely will not …?! I think it’s beyond me! But it’s so relaxing to watch you do it! Thanks for sharing! You crack me up sister! 😂 You CAN wing it with a wig, that's what I did. It's pretty bad, but nothing a kerchief can't fix. (that's what I do w my own hairdo). What after all did she have to lose? 🤣🤣🤣. Of course yesterday I watched 6 different wigging videos. I'm thinking of some hair for Millie! 😅 Ya, Im a measure once, cut twice kinda gal. LOL. I'm glad all my dolly friends are gentle with me. 🥰✨🥳

Thanks Vicki!🤗 She is a happy woman despite her buggy eyes. She was born with them. She doesn't mind her amateur, sparse wig. She supposes her head will be warmer in the fierce City wind. At least she can ride her bicycle again. 😘😂✨

Haha😂 Not sure any of the other dolls will be asking me for hair help but I want to try again with an adequate amount of hair. I have some old mohair wigs with wefts already in place. I think the dolls are hiding from me.. I can't find anyone.. 🤔😂🥰✨

OMgosh Gretchen you are TOO FUNNY! I did a terrible job, not having enough hair etc. 🤣 On my own bad hair days (frequent) I resort to a kerchief. Hides a multitude of issues. I'm committed to trying again and improving skills. There was something satisfying about it. As I mentioned to someone else, the dolls are hiding from me. The dolls house looks empty..😂😂😂🥰✨🥳

Thanks Julie🤗 I did tell her I had only a vague idea and sparse supplies of hair for a wig but she wanted me to proceed. It was fun and I'd like to try some more to gain some experience, and hopefully improve. 🥰✨

Dot you know your brillant with how you tell stories. She’s cute but a bit scary too ,eye brows and pupils might help. If you want to improve on the hair take a thin strip of wig cap fabric and glue long the bottom end of her length in the back of her hair allow it to dry cut enough for bangs. Then glue that first to the front of her hair,Then glue on the other wig cap on top. A trick I learnt a long time ago was to take all the cutoff hair and knotted bits .Roll them up into a cap and glue them to the cap first,then add your lengths ´ no bald spots’ 😊I too have had limited supplies from time to time too . Great stringing tutorial I know she feels centered now poor thing 🤣🤣😂😂💕💕💕💕💕💕

Aw you're so kind Grace! I do have their whole stories in my mind, otherwise I probably wouldn't be able to create a thing. Ya, her buggy eyes make her a little scary. I tried some eyebrows and wiped them off. Pupils..hmm, I didn't even consider. Thank you for the excellent tip for bangs and bald spots!. Part of the issue was I didn't have enough hair. She's so small I thought it would work. I didn't go for bangs because of her built in forelock, but it can't really be seen which makes her look weird. She's so busy with delivering fish for the family business, I don't think she'll be bothered for awhile. I am committed to practicing more wigging! 🥰✨

I think you're right! 🤗 I didn't try it because she has that moulded lock of "hair" in the front but it can't really be seen. Maybe I'll try adding some color with pigment. I don't have any more of the hair I used. Sure wonder where it came from...🤔🥰

@thedollcupboard I got some beautiful doll hair from Temu. It's about 6" long and curly. Nice wide piece, too. It would make hair for quite a few dolls!

So far, I've only wigged one of my dolls, and that was pretty easy since she is an older character (elf) and wears a bun. I'm not looking forward to trying it on my younger characters! I think your wig cap process will be helpful. You did a good job.

Hi Mary🤗 Oh goodness, don't follow what I'm doing, 🤣 there are so many good, instructive videos out there. I didn't have the intention to wig her when I started, but she asked. LOL. Try and try again, that's my motto. 🥰✨

I had the thought that medical fabric tape used for bandaging might be a good option for forming a wig cap? Not sure if they even make it anymore. Or you could dip some fabric in glue rubber band on head then cut it down to fit. I have used that method to make hats. Which when I think about it guess a wig is a hair hat! ❤

The arms and legs in the tray were a bit startling! LOL. Great job all around, I never knew how to string a doll. Mrs. Quince should feel much better now. I think she needs some thyroid for her buggy eyes? But she is beautiful just the way she is.

Hi Suzanne🤗 Yes, I was thinking thyroid also. LOL! I've heard oral medication doesn't work on dolls..😅 The arms and legs are only startling because we're human and that would be an utter tragedy. For dolls, it's quite common.. 😂😂😂 Mrs Quince doesn't seem to mind her amateur wig and kerchief. She got right back on her bike and went down to the piers. 😂🥰✨
