Kinda pointless when you don't ENFORCE these regulations. Builders and building surveyors in this state can be confident they can get away with non-compliance because VBA is unlikely to take meaningful action. I've had a complaint with the VBA about a serious breech covered by this video for well over a year and even after chasing my totally stalled complaint numerous times NOTHING came of it. The building was not halted. The parties responsible were not prosecuted. The non-compliant building has now been completed and affected parties like myself basically have no rights nor redress. There were no consequences for the building surveyor and builder. Big players know this and this actively encourages unethical behavior. Very disillusioned with our state regulator. I will of course amend/delete this comment if something worthwhile ever happens but I'm not holding my breath.
