sir, I have a doubt. In the lecture you have only talk about oscillating electric filed. so my question is that why you have not talk about magnetic field

Raghav verma Only Electric field gives sensation to our eyes while magnetic field does not produce any effect So we study only about electric field

why there is a need to use a second polarizer to test the presence of polarised light as first polarizer decreases the intensity of light so we can conclude that light is polarised . so explain.

the light which is passed through the first polarizer is reduced to half of its intensity and the light of this intensity is made to pass throught the second polarizer. If we rotate this second polarizer then the intensity of light is again reduced such that if the first polarizer and second polarizer is at 90 degrees(cross) then the resulting light coming out of the second polarizer is zero.
