We assemble the bottom end of the Praga B2 and take a look at the De Schelde Scheldemusch, a delightfully eccentric Dutch device.
Warning: Lots of anorak level technical content.
Music: 'Honeysuckle' by Honeyroot and 'Hammock Fight' by Kevin McLeod.

I knew it was going to be a great video when I saw the hacksaw and hand file come out!

VERY therapeutic, watching this little jewel going back together. IMHO, someone should bring this engine back into production for Ultralights. Seems to be a very proven design. Thanks for the video! Anxiously awaiting Episode Four!

I think a hybrid, combining the best features of the Praga and the Aeronca Jap, would be excellent. Simple dual coil ignition with a wasted spark would be very reliable and easy. I intend to build up an Aeronca Jap for a future project and it will have dual ignition using Citroen 2CV ignition components as they are inexpensive and plentiful. Another series! Part 4 of the Praga motor should be out at the weekend, making good progress in spite of a long list of ‘honey-dos’!

@@FlyingForFunTrecanair Simple, solid, reliable. No need for Japanese overengineering and ultra high RPM. I like your idea of a future project; I'll follow your progress faithfully! LOL As I recall, the famous Honda 750 Four used the wasted spark ignition system with great success. Good luck with your HoneyDo list!! 👍

Lovely relaxing video Nick. A bit like watching Edd China doing a little repair on his excellent channel, informative and grippingly slow TV. I wish I'd had the knowhow and courage to tackle my A65 rebuild, could have saved me many ££££s.

Thank you, the A65 is very straightforward as long as the case doesn't need machining.

Marvellous! I do basic maintenance on my VW engine, conscious of my trial'n error engineering expertise. Your confident whacks and files are obviously underwritten by years of experience, but its so refreshing and interesting to see this engine metamorphose. And to know there's more in store for viewers like me. Well done that man!

I’ve been messing around with engines since I was a boy and became an engineering apprentice at 16. We retrieved a Ferguson TE20 from an orchard c.1978 that was the start of it. I am not a licensed aircraft engineer although I’ve been turning spanners on them for the last 40 years.

I may be wrong, but with front big end and rod to the right insert shaft anf front rod past the cutout. Rotate shaft 180 degrees and with back big end and rod to the right, insert it hrough the cutout. Rotate shaft to get back rod into right hand barrel. I can't think the Czechsa were wrong! Love your work,, I'm a 93 yo glider pilot in days gone bye! Keep your speed up, and thanks! barrel

@@FlyingForFunTrecanair My apologies! I should have thought you would...But from overhere, I thought I had solved your problem.. So the Czech's were wrong after all. BTW I love your work , AND the Vauxhall. I'm a Minerva tragic!
