Letňany jsou jednou nejnovějších stanic, byla otevřena před 12 lety v roce 2008. Ta stanice je super. Nejvíc se mi líbí asi blikající čára při příjezdu a odjezdu vlaku.👍🇨🇿🚇

Usually in cities under one million in population there will not be a metro. Prague's population is one million two hundred thousand vs. Bratislava only four hundred thousand. Metro is usually in large cities, not mid sized cities.

I would say no, most cities with less than 1 million inhabitants have a metro, for example, Nuremberg in Germany has less than 1 million inhabitants and has a metro. Same for Lyon, in France. It is above all that the cost of these infrastructures are sometimes expensive for a medium-sized city, and overcapacity compared to real needs. So they make light metros or trams.

Just to let you know, the drivers usually do not behave like this. On the surface lines (buses, trams, trolleybuses), the drivers always wave to each other everytime they see another vehicle (dozens times every shift) and the drivers always have a small talk when they meet. So this was suprising to me even as a local.

One of the main reasons is that bratislava simply isnt big enough for a metro, it would be a huge money waste and do so little on the other hand. Prague is like 3x times bigger and has a shitload of tourists etc. Tram system with occasional underground stations if needed would be the way to go, but the city doesnt seem to have the money for it.

The main reason is that metro lines, in all cities, are expensive, and not all major cities have the means to create them either, a "Stadbahn" or an underground tram would suffice initially. At this time, it would be a lighter means of transport than the metro, waiting to convert it later into a classic metro line. But given the size of Bratislava (357km2), a metro would be perfectly justified. It just takes the means to do it.

I would be surprised if Bratislava, a city of population of just four hundred thousand would have a metro, fund or no funds. Bratislava is not a large city. It's a mid size city. Prague on the contrary has three times the population of Bratislava @ one million two hundred thousand, and it is a large city. Metro is usually in large cities with a population of one million or more, not mid sized cities with population of just a few hundred thousand.
