Praia do Luz (Luz Beach) in Imbituba, Santa Catarina, Brazil, is a special destination, offering a serene escape amidst the lively atmosphere of Praia do Rosa. Nestled between Barra do Ibiraquera Beach and Praia do Rosa in the Imbituba region, we explored this haven during a summer vacation and were so captivated by the beauty of Barra de Ibiraquera and Praia do Luz that we returned to soak in the picturesque surroundings.
The landscape around the sandy shores is breathtaking, surrounded by lush green hills. The pristine waters gently wash the sands, shaped delicately by earth-toned rocks of various sizes. This captivating scenery frames the boundary between Praia do Luz and Praia do Rosa, making it our favorite spot on the first day of our journey.
Although we visited equally stunning places like Praia da Barra de Ibiraquera and Praia da Vila on the same day, there was something special about this corner. The clear waters with small waves, combined with the emergence of natural pools during certain tide levels, offer delightful and relaxing bathing experiences. Surfers frequent the beach, taking advantage of the waves, and, like its neighbor, Praia da Barra, Praia do Luz is a prime spot for observing the migration of southern right whales.
Praia do Luz lacks infrastructure, with only a nearby inn as the sole structure close to the sand. Plan ahead and bring food for a picnic or dine at the surrounding beaches before arriving. We love exploring nature and discovering the best views in each destination. If you're like us, don't miss the short hike to Praia do Rosa Canto Sul - approximately 30 minutes and 2.5 km, offering various stunning viewpoints at different elevations along the way.
The trail is considered easy, making it accessible even for those with moderate fitness levels. Praia do Luz in Imbituba, SC, is an excellent choice for nature lovers who seek tranquility and don't want to stay in one place for too long.
The trail to Praia do Rosa Canto Sul is beautiful, with breathtaking views. Best of all, it doesn't require peak physical fitness, making the walk between the two beaches a truly enjoyable exploration. Allow yourself this experience; I can guarantee that the stunning views you'll encounter will make the journey well worth it.
