Not one word on repentance.. many people believe, even the demons believe, but they don’t obey God. God tells us to repent and believe and be obedient to Gods word. God didn’t tell Jona to preach the love of God, he told Jona to tell the people of nineve to repent and believe, to turn away from their wicked sin otherwise God will destroy them. We need to stop preaching the happy fluffy Jesus. Tell people to repent and believe otherwise there is eternal punishment. God is holy. God gives life, but God also kills, God blesses but God also curses people. God cares more about righteousness then people otherwise we would not have a hell. And God is not going to bless everyone in this life, some yes some no, look at all the apostles in the Bible, the Christian walk is narrow and difficult we will be persecuted, and Gods blessings are not what we think it is. Many Christian’s are being killed because of there faith in other countries. God doesn’t promise us an abundant blessed life on this earth. It’s quite the opposite. The path is narrow for a reason and that’s why few will decide to stay on it, not eternally secure, Paul is clear about those who endure until the end.. your name can be blotted out of the book of life according revelations 3. We need to abide in Christ, otherwise we the branches will be cut off and burned. Let’s not sugar coat the gospel, the reason so many end up in hell is because we don’t preach on repentance anymore and what it means, to DENY yourself, not filling your own dreams, your own will, being focused on the self and your own abundance, positive self talk, not at all. Store your treasures up in heaven and not in this world. Don’t be hearers of the word, be doers of the word. Actions speak louder then WORDS.. just saying you believe in Jesus doesn’t mean anything if your not walking the narrow path, denying your self, carrying your cross, and being obedient to a point of death. We need to preach on the fear of the Lord it’s not being preached about anymore in the church and many will fall away because of this.
