Deathbattle explicitly says that the Dragonborn is so op compared to the Undead, that the Chosen Undead would have no choice but to go Hollow, which would kill his 'self'. He would make the Chosen Undead ragequit.

To give you a better understanding of why they went with how they ended the fight. The lore of Dark Souls has champions of heroes trying to keep the fire lit for the next 1000 years and if it ever goes out. All of existence is shrouded in darkness. This is something that they did cover in the earlier acknowledges with the Chosen Undead. They fused their very beings into the fire to keep Is everything lit in their universe. So when the Dragonborn destroyed the fire, he sent everything to darkness. I do recommend watching their analysis part to get a better understanding of the direction they went in.

And the insane thing is, with how Dragon Shouts and Tonal Magic work in general, alternating the very fabric of reality, the Dragonborn could likely restore light to the universe with help from one of his summoned dragons.

It's not a traditional ending like.. a decapitation or something, because that's not how you _end_ the Chosen Undead. He'd just come back from that. To end the Chosen Undead, you need to put out the first flame. That's what the Dragonborn did with that shout at the end.

I really liked the ending of this fight. The Chosen Undead linking the fire as a last resort in attempt to burn the Dragonborn to ashes like when Gwyn linked the flame and burned the Black Knights that followed him to ashes. The Dragonborn using his Shout to extinguish the flame makes sense considering Dragon Shouts have reality bending power. When dragons fight one another, they are debating who is correct. To a dragon, power equals truth, those who are stronger are right making their truth become reality. Power was very important in this fight and unfortunately for the Chosen Undead. His entire verse doesn't compare to the Dragonborn's power.

It wasn't a close fight. that's the problem. They explicitly say in the end that the chosen undead can keep coming back to life but he wouldn't be able to do anything to the dragon born due to the vast difference in power which would force the chosen undead to go hollow. As for the dragon born blowing away the flame, the shout ability is basically reality warping. It's basically speaking whatever is said into reality using the language of the dragons.

​@@fireblast133 what are you talking about ? The shouts is literally just the language of the dragons. Literally stated in the game itself and in the lore. When dragon fight they're basically just arguing using the dragon language and the result of them arguing is everything around them getting destroyed. It's literally stated in the lore that when dragons fight in the elder scrolls lore they're just arguing on who's reality is true and whoever wins the battle make their reality the truth.b

I'm not saying that shouts aren't used as you're saying, and that for dragons its a debate essentially. what I am saying is Shouts classify as a tonal magic. Tonal magic is the use of sound to alter reality. It requires intense practice and concentration to apply it. The DB can do it inherently as he is Dovah, just in mortal form. But for anyone else, any tonal magic, shouts, the various applications the dwarves utilized, ancestor moth rituals, etc, it's a lot of prep, practice, and effort. So in essence, dragons are inherently rewriting a bit of reality every time they Shout. They aren't breathing fire, they are rewriting reality in front of them to make a geyser of fire appear. Unrelenting force makes a shockwave manifest in front of them. Most often after the shout ends, reality reimposes itself on that spot they changed.

@@fireblast133 shouts are not tonal magic, tonal magic is something the dwarves worked on, dragon shouts are literally their voice. it's not just the sound the makes the magic, it's the sound plus the words. that's why you need to literally say fus ro dah, because its words.

Sword Singers - Redquard tonal magic that allows them to imbue weapons with power or even manifest a blade using their own soul's strength Thu'um. Tonal magic, primal in nature, tapping into the ancient powers and altering the reality of the immediate vicinity through words and projection of your inner self. Green Singing - Bosmer tonal magic made to convince plantlife within Valenwood to grow in specific ways. A means to utilize plantlife without violating the Green Pact. Tonal magic is manipulating the song of Aurbis in a way. It's akin to string theory in our world. Dwarves weren't the ones to use it exclusively. also, words are sounds when spoken, you are focusing what you want to happen via tonal magic with the words shouted.

Fun fact, while Dovahkiin's official translation is dragonborn, alternate, unofficial interpretations translate dovahkiin as dov ah kiin (‘born to hunt dragonkind’). But here's the question... Does odahviing's soul go to- the dragonborn as is his godly right, or to the chosen undead as he struck the killing blow? I say Dovahkiin would steal the soul Miraak style, and a few responses I've gotten from this comment on other videos agree

Souls in both series work differently, and that becomes pretty clear once you realize that souls in the Elder Scrolls also don't work the same as others in their same universe. Dragon souls are different than White & Black souls which are embodiments of a TES character's personhood, and in Dark Souls they are all effectively piecemeal fragments of the Dark Soul itself and have nothing to do with any character's personhood.

Out of the 3 Dark Souls Protagonists, Dark Souls 3 Main Character *(The Ashen One)* is the one who Actually Stands a Chance Against the DragonBorn...

Other than Dawnbreaker and Auriel's bow the Dragonborn was using gear that can be looted from the first bandit camp in the game instead of wearing enchanted dragonscale\plate armor with enchanted ring and necklace while the Chosen Undead was given the Elite Knight set which is pretty good along with Smough's hammer, a catalyst, and a talisman.

i don't think the ending was abrupt, and it was pretty obvious what happened, the dragonborn blew out the first flame. it would be no different then a person getting their head cut off, that's pretty damn abrupt if you ask me. it only takes 1 mistake to become the headless horsemen.

I'm a huge Skyrim fan and i actually thought the Chosen Undead was going to end up winning. I thought the Chosen was going to win because of infinite dodge/parrying 😂. I also thought it may turn out to be a draw because the Dragonborn can be invincible against literally anything when using his choice of spells or shouts (Become Ethereal/Dragon Aspect/ Dragon Flesh spell. So the Dragonborn would be impossible to beat as he would just cycle through his powers to stay alive, and the Chosen Undead would keep coming back until he figures out a strategy after countless fights...(I thought this was how CU was going to win)... or until he eventually turns hollow. I think if the death battle ended that way instead, it would be more clear for many people to understand.

the problem is the dodge mechanic is literally designed for the game, or you would just be forever getting hit. plus the fact that the dragonborn is faster, means he could literally get past a dodge.

They are infinite because they aren't planets they are separate planes of reality in the Elder Scrolls lore just like the sun isn't actually the sun it's a hole to a dimension of pure magic nothing in Elder Scrolls is like our world or the Dark Souls world for that matter

I will say this the ashen one is much stronger and only one issue with this fight is the second the flame is linked it can't go out and everything in the kilm is burnt to ashes.otherwise it was a good fight .

Yea the way the end happened in general just felt extremely off. That seams to be an issue with these closer fights, they can't think of a good way to finish the fights. Overall it was a good fight though, faults aside. I did like the fact that the 2 snakes were the ones driving the fight though

From what I've heard/read, Unrelenting Force can rewrite reality if the shout proves more powerful. So, if the shout overpowered the first flame, it would be able to change its own reality and snuff it out, regardless of its own rules or lore. Something along those lines, I believe

@@ShimmerScarlet the thing is magic has no effect on the flame, the flame fades when it has no souls and can summon a guardian to protect it
