Without any kind of vanity, Mr. Prakash Padukone was listening with such attention and humility, like he is trying to digest each and every word guru ji is saying. Even at his age and his level, such curiosity and willingness to absorb the knowlege like a student. It clearly shows how he would have absorbed all the Badminton knowledge in his day from all his coaches with total humility and commitment. That clearly seems to be the reason why he became a champion and World Number 1. Even to this day, it is clearly visible in his eyes.

He was ranked World No. 1 in 1980; the same year he became the first Indian to win the All England Open Badminton Championships. He was awarded the Arjuna award in 1972 and the Padma Shri in 1982 by the Government of India. He is one of the co-founders of Olympic Gold Quest, a foundation dedicated to the promotion of Olympic sports in India.
