Very accurate review. I too am getting about 10-12 kmpl in city in bumper to bumper traffic. On the highway my car averages 16-17kmpl normally. If driven aggressively economy drops between 12 & 14. Mine is the 220 turbo. I agree with your rear seat assessment. It is below par on comfort. My sister has a Creta and the rear seat in that is really spacious with excellent under thigh support and backrest recline angle. Also the boot space of the Creta is bigger and I felt much more usable than the boot space of the Astor. Apart from that I have no issues with the car and definitely donot regret buying it. Also MG's after sales experience has been brilliant. I own a Maruti Nexa car also, a Baleno and maruti's so called premium experience doesn't come close to MG's. MG make me feel at home. Then there is the service cost which is extremely low. Ofcourse I have the 5 year maintenance pack but even in that cost per service comes to about Rs5,500 only when I spend Rs 8,000-10,000 on my Baleno service. Bhai 1.3 turbo has no such issues 1.5 cvt works well i know guys who have taken it to extreme hills spiti and all manual you have to drive according to car! + You can't expect if to fly on uphills it's a heavy vehicle so it's not as fast as maruti Remember in manual we have to drive according to car engine!

My Astor robot has also started producing a chirping noise on highways. And apart from this my car’s sunroof is also producing some kind of metal strike noise. Overall it’s been a good experience to drive Astor for 20k in just one year.

Car sunroof issue can be resolved very very easily! Just talk to the sc guys! Actually robot issue never gets resolved and it's a useless thing so i get irritated seeing it everytime 😁

I own style model .Got rym changed to alloys from MG dealership.Overall run in around 4K in 1 year.Had initial mileage problems .Only rectification for better mileage is you need to be gentle on accelerator .Power transfer is linear, rpm should be around 2.1k for better mileage ,however seems sluggish when you want a quick pickup. Overall it has great looks and driving Comfort .recently got 3rd service done and overall cost was 2500 only . All in all driving is a fun with AStor.

JUST GOT THE SYSTEM UPDATE BRO , IT'Sgood PERFORMANCE update & new theme for ROBOT ( Try and make vidoe on it ) 💥💥🥳completed 14k and 1.2 year with my astor CVT automatic. MILEAGE FIGURES OF 1.5 CVT HIGHWAY 16KMPL MIX 14KMPL CITY ( 10 KMPL ) all petrol car in segement (except hybrid) gives same mileage figures as my friend has 1.5 kia seltos petrol. IN WHOLE KZbin all says AI ROBOT is useless, yes it will be BOORING when you say 'tell me joke blaa blaaa bla'... Just say ,turn on ac , open windows , volume up down etc. All thi WITHOUT SAYING HELLO ASTOR.

Yes it has ! The model you are planning to buy has ADAS which makes this car way more ahead of its time! Astor is a great choice Feels premium and driving is premium.... Just remember to drive it calmly else mileage will drop! I was able to get as high as 18 on open highways and as low as 7 on traffic routes

MG is a cover up of Chinese brand SIAC. Have doubts on long term Realibility & Resale value in India. Cars बिकती ही नहीं तो Resale कैसे होगी. इसीलिए MG कोशिश कर्ता है Competition से ज्यादा ऑफर करे और दाम कम करके Customers को फंसा सके. Their 1.5 NA engine is pathetic. Does not offer power nor efficency. MG has failed to develop trust & confidence among Indian buyers. After 5 Years & 5 models their market share is 1%. I own MG ASTOR 1.5 MT smart variant driven 20,000 km. I agree with all the pros you have mentioned and Manual variant feels a bit under powered at times and I at 20k kms I'm changing my tyres which are continental uc6 initially provided while buying. Frequent decrease in tyre pressure and a puncture which is more like a tyre tear has happened 3 days ago and I decided to change all my tyres . As they were not in great shape

Not happy with driving experience, it has got serious lag in pickup, up hill it feels so under powered , software needs to be updated as the robot is almost always disconnected, it’s just like Chinese mobile with all the features without performance , i m not happy with Sharp 1.5MT . MG needs to think seriously to retune their engine to make it fun to drive also and plz MG stop the radio turning on each time you start the car , it’s highly highly irritating

Hi I am driving same car Adas top model Since January 2022 Till now 23000 km driven In Punjab and Himachal most of the time I drive. Driving seat is very comfortable and you can drive continuously for 12-14 hours without any tiredness. It makes the driving so easy I love driving this car The best part is overtaking other vehicles, and overtaking on hills give you a real sense of something you have owned worthful . First of all Say no to all cosmetics services that the company may provide - Engine Coating Interior cleaning Upholstery cleaning Ac cleaning Paint protection etc etc Second - no wheel balancing if the tyres are not removed from the rim Third follow the instructions given in the instruction manual - what all needs to be changed! Anything above that ! Not required!

Bro! No quality issue faced in this car! I know guys who have clocked almost 40000kms It works well! The only concern people have is that the mileage is low! Honestly speaking all cars in the segment has a low mileage ... It maybe less but the fun of driving is high due to high quality engine

I recently boughat MG Astor 2nd base variant manual transmission. I am facing 2nd and 3 gear initial pick up lag issue. Atleast 3 seconds initial lag i am facing. But if i push the accelartor slowly then its fine. Company service man said any MG manual variant has this picup lag issue. Note: This only happens when i slow down the gear from 4th or 5th to 2nd or 3rd make the car slow and then pushing the acclrt to speed up then facing the picup lag. Please please reply.

Hi Prakash, what about sunlight coming inside does it make car more hot? I noticed the cloth which covers/rolls below sunroof is so thin. Where as in Creta the cloth material is thicker.

The inside cabin of all the cars gets immensely hot if it's parked in open on a hot sunny day. The temperature in car with sunroof and in car without sunroof both becomes unbearable. The benefits a car with sunroof is that, as soon as the sunroof is opened the hot air flies above (as hot air is lighter) But in case of car without sunroof, you open all the window, drive a bit and then temperature falls. No doubt the thin cloth makes it little uncomfortable for a person sleeping in rear seat but overall the issue is not that big . I hope i was able to reply to you correctly

I recently bought an Astor Sharp CVT variant and have been loving it. But one thing I recently noticed is that the navigation system is not showing the love traffic anymore. I tried restarting the UI by pressing the home button for 10s like you advised but not seeing any changes. I tried enabling and disabling the live traffic in my maps but nothing happens. Could you please advise if you have seen this issue and advise what could I do to fix this?

I have the same variant as yours. However, I get a screeching sound while breaking. Are you facing the same issue? I asked the dealer and they said it's due to disc brake activation.

@@prakashparadisee It's been around 6 months, so yes relatively new. At the beginning it didn't happen though. The sound is similar to the one we get when we change gear in manual with half clutch. First time I am driving an automatic so initially thought might be transmission related.

Even I’m not that much satisfied with my astor for the amount which I paid I feel like I could have bought a better car in this price segment the AI is completely useless I use apple car play all the time so internet inside doesn’t even exist for me engine in underpower cant even climb the vehicle at my building parking mg services are not that good they are very neglecting until and unless you do not raise the ticket and I hardly get 8 to 10 kmpl of mileage even after owning a manual version

Owning a manual you definitely need to get in touch with people who have same vehicle! People are getting better than 8/10 in manual! I completely agree about the AI thing! And i use Android aut as you use Apple car play!

Did you try to get the alignment from outside? If the service center guys are failing to fix! Go to a good tyre shop! Sometimes they are expert in handling such situations! Ai robot is useless Mobile app only works when car is kept in open!!

The strength of the fog lamp is also not so strong in dense fog. Also the headlamp seems like underpower at some point. But still it's one of the best in class.

Headlights aren't powerful enuff, cabin light is sorely missed on rear seats, with dimensions slightly bigger than creta it offers less boot space and rear cabin space. Other than these I find my car to be an absolute pleasure to drive
