Time and again our Government resorts to such acts when the artist is sadly is disconnected with his surroundings and unable to express his feelings or share his vast experience with his fans. It is a shame that this honour is conferred upon the artist almost in the dying moments of his life. e.g. Pandit Bhimsen Joshi, Ashok Kumar ji and Marathi Actress Sulochana Ji were alk too old even to hold the award in their feeble hands..Why does our Government wake up so late each time on such important events ?? SAD BUT TRUE !!

Pran sahab was and will remain an icon for the India cinema. A legend having decades of experience behind him. He deserves this award and like him many more in the industry do so. The irony is to give it to Pran sahab at this stage and state of his life . Should be given earlier when these legends are in better health conditions. Why have one award have 2 or 3 given together in a year so that respect and honour is given on time . An award delayed to such an extent is an award denied to these honourable and dignified individuals. 🙏🏻

Mohammad Hussain- Your first sentence in the form of question is wrong. He was a legend. He should have been awarded very much earlier, but you may not be knowing the politics of Congress Party. Don't use these types of words "Zinda Lash". If he would have been in a position to still talk and walk, in good health and if any film producer took him in any of their film for a strong role, his eyes and facial expressions, only, would have been enough to play the role. The mention of Amir Khan is completely out of context. The tickets of the movies used to get fully sold in which Pran was acting. He played his negative roles so strongly that parents of new born male child would dare not name him Pran, even if they wanted to. This is the fact. Gabbar Singh's dialogue of movie Sholay, came very late. I will just give you an example of his dialogue delivery against AB, just with his facial, eyes and hand expressions, from the movie Majboor. In a scene, AB says "Suna hai choro ke bhi kuch usul hote hai". To which Pran says "Tumne sahi suna hai. Choro ke hi to usul hote hai". The dialogue was said in a soft tone but the intensity of his voice and its effect hit where it was targeted. How can anyone forget Zanjeer and Don, to name a few. As he was such a great actor, the President should have come specially to honour him, by keeping protocol and other assignments aside. Anyway, they are just puppets of the government in power. Just sending IB minister is an insult. Lastly, I insist to remove the words "Zinda Lash" from your comment, for such a great actor. Thank you.
