ডক্টর মুহাম্মদ ইউনূসকে বিশ্রীভাবে 'সুদখোর' ঢাকা হয় বারবার। মজার ব্যাপার হচ্ছে- মুহাম্মদ ইউনূসকে যারা পছন্দ করেন তাদের বেশীরভাগও জানেন না, মুহাম্মদ ইউনূসের সুদের ব্যবসা নাই। গ্রামীণ ব্যাংক তার প্রতিষ্ঠিত হলেও গ্রামীন ব্যাংকে তাঁর এক টাকার মালিকানাও নাই, শেয়ারও নাই। কখনোই ছিল না। সারা পৃথিবীর ১০৭টা ইউনিভার্সিটিতে মুহাম্মদ ইউনূস সেন্টার আছে। ইউনিভার্সিটিগুলো নিজেদের উদ্যোগে এটা করেছে। এর প্রধান কারণ হচ্ছে তাঁর মাইক্রো-ফাইনান্স। যেটা তাঁকে এবং তাঁর গ্রামীন ব্যাংকে নোবেল শান্তি পুরষ্কার এনে দিয়েছিল। জিনিসটা আপনার-আমার কাছে আশ্চর্যজনক মনে হতে পারে। কিন্তু এটাই সত্যি। ড. মুহাম্মদ ইউনূসের মাইক্রো-ফাইনান্সের ধারণার মূল ভিত্তিই হচ্ছে এটা। এই ব্যবসার কেউ মালিক হতে পারবে না। সম্পূর্ণ নন-প্রফিট তথা অলাভজনক। এটাকে বলে সামাজিক ব্যবসা। নির্দিষ্ট কোনো মালিক নাই। জনগণই এর মালিক। বাইর থেকে অনুদানের টাকা এনে গ্রামীণ ব্যাংক প্রতিষ্ঠা করেছিলেন ড মুহাম্মদ ইউনূস। নিজে এটি প্রতিষ্ঠা করলেও প্রতিষ্ঠানে তার এক পয়সার মালিকানাও রাখেননি। বরং এর ২৫% মালিকানা সরকারের, বাকি মালিকানা গরীব মানুষের। নিজের প্রতিষ্ঠিত ব্যাংকে ড মুহাম্মদ ইউনূস মাত্র ৩০০ ডলার বেতনে চাকরী করতেন। তিনি যে নিজের কোনো শেয়ার রাখেননি তা না, কোম্পানীকে এমনভাবে প্রতিষ্ঠা করেছেন যাতে কেউ এর একক মালিক হতে না পারে। কোম্পানী অধ্যাদেশ ২৮ ধারা অনুযায়ী তিনি এটি রেজিস্ট্রেশন করেন। Collected
