This has been really fascinating. I've played Banished vanilla since launch day and not seen much reason to add CC. I'm REALLY tempted to try the Colonial Charter mod pack now. It seemed a bit daunting previously when I looked at it, but seeing you talk about the building/options makes me see that it's not so much overwhelming as it is room for possibility. I may be scrapping my current game so that I can start a game with this.

People move around for their jobs in vanilla also. I've never really thought of anyone as being a set "family unit", it doesn't seem to work like that at all. People just move in wherever they can and there are no mothers or fathers. You spend too much time looking at this lol. There are no family/couple dynamics in the game whatsoever. I actually like that it does this, I don't have to fiddle with where people live and keeping families together and near their jobs.

Pretty sure @Quill18 did a video in Vanilla where he disproved the 'old forest' strategy for herbs, etc.. IIRC, you just need a solid population of adult trees - 'old' vs 'young' doesn't matter.

The “Old Growth Forest” thing was a myth that made its way through the playerbase. You just need enough trees. Herbs grow in either.

Most probably the devs used a name generator online and pasted in the names into a special list where the game picks them for the citizens.

Dom Pizzarro Yes, but she likely wouldnt have a title within that profession, such as "blacksmith." She was the blacksmith's wife, who took care of the kids, the house and helped out as needed. Also in the case of the blacksmith, the shop would employ more than 1 blacksmith, likely 3 to 4 more people depending on the size of the town. This game has potential.
