Civilization 6: Deity Byzantium - Condemnation (Part 4)

Two new civs were recently added to Civilization 6, including the glorious Byzantium! The Byzantines are an exceptionally powerful nation, using religious conversion to boost an aggressive military playstyle. If played correctly, this might just be a top-tier civ and I'm looking forward to exploring its capabilities in Deity mode!

Not always. I've had the thing where they try coming with an entire army. Having 1 unit in the city tile to reinforce the city quickly makes the AI think twice before doing surprise wars. In some cases these wars were already prevented by having 1/2 units inside a city border. For some reason, the AI is affraid of starting a war when it knows you got units within city borders. Preferably Cavalry or ranged Units are best due to cavalries high dmg. Or ranged units extra ranged attacks on top of citt attacks

I’m not sure if you already knew this but when combining units later in the game your promotions of both units are combined in the new core or army so it’s a good idea to spread different promotions when possible

For anyone new watching this - If you are going to attack nearby units as byzantium there is not really point of waiting for your religion since every military unit killed provides religious pressure, enough to convert a city state easily and frontier cities of nearby civs if you had some fights with them during your opening attacks as well

Loving this series. But one thing that bugs me is that you're not seeing there's this great city located next to the marble north of Constantinople and West of Rapa Nui. It'll hook up the marble and more amber, 2 more quarries, and more sea resources. Most of all, it will allow you to build a bigger navy because the city will serve as a channel from the lake to the sea so you can securely build ships in Constantinople by the lake and then deploy them into the sea

Nope, but when ur in a war you gotta be carefull. Military units can brand religious units as heretics and remove them from play. Its a sneaky way to quickly ruin your religious spreading.
