A few years ago I was awakened in the middle of the night with an urge to pray for my sister-in-law. As far as I knew, there was nothing wrong with her. We seldom spoke to each other, and rarely even communicated via email, so I was a bit puzzled, but I started to pray, keeping a "picture " of her in my mind. I uttered a few words and tried to get back to sleep, but I couldn't. I found myself continuing to pray for her, fervently, without a clue as to why. This happened again the following night so I emailed her after the second time and I was shocked by her response. She had suddenly started suffering a great deal of pain, out of the blue. It was excruciating and made her feel like she would go crazy unless she got some sort of relief. Needless to say, I continued to pray for her after that, and we stayed in touch more often than before. But, it didn't end there. About a year later, it happened again! This time I didn't wait a day to contact her, but, again, she replied with yet another incident of a different illness that caused her a great deal of pain! I don't want to sound new-age or anything, but I honestly felt the presence of the Holy Spirit during both incidents. He wouldn't let me stop praying until it was time. And, when I couldn't find the words to use because I didn't know what I was praying for, I finally understood what the groanings mentioned in Scriptures meant. It was a valuable lesson I learned from those experiences, and I praise God for it!

The same has happened to me, it was my nephew, as far as I knew everything was fine, but I started praying for him, I learned a while later that his life had started unraveling badly, it was a profound experience. We need to listen and be obedient, God moves, God bless you and your family.

I pray and ask God for something that is easy for me but so important and sometimes painful for a patient. My profession is in Health Care and there are times I have to draw arterial blood gases, it’s very painful for the patient. If I start having any difficulty in drawing the blood gas I immediately say, Jesus help me get this blood. It is almost immediately that the Lord helps me. I never want to hurt or cause anyone pain. Because I belong to Jesus Christ and when we love like Jesus Christ we don’t ever want to inflict pain of any kind on anyone also one of most important things in my prayers is glorify God. To be sure we give Him honor and praise before we ask for anything and no one comes into the Father but by Jesus Christ first. This how I pray. What a wonderful teaching thank you Pastor Jeremiah. I have your devotional and read most every day, it helps me in my Bible studies. May the Lord Bless you. Amen

What an awesome message that rings true for me. My only regret is that I didn’t listen to it yesterday. We need to be reminded often and sometimes firmly that we need to be more focused on others rather than ourselves to be used by God. I read one time that intercessory prayer is one of the most unselfish things we can do as a Christian. I try to take time to pray every morning for all my siblings and their children and grandchildren, my own children, my spouse, my pastor and his wife and children, and then a long list of people with sickness- also any issues going on in our nation and world. I don’t tell God what to do though. I pray His will be done. Great sermon by Dr. Jeremiah as always. ❤

Yes, I have done that, my beagle got hit by a car and he wouldn’t drink for three days in and out of the hospital. I want to run my room and shut the door and prayed he be healed. That night he got up in bed and went to the kitchen and started drinking and I looked at my wife and said he’s gonna be OK. He doesn’t have a limp or anything. He’s as healthy as he ever was now.
