This film explores the ancient traditions and rites of the people inhabiting high up in the Pamirs in Central Asia. In spring time, when the time comes to water the lands, there is a need for the locals to go high up to the mountain to let the mountain stream come down to the village. Before the water is directed to fall down to the village, a special rite is carried out to sacrifice food for the mountain stream. By these rites the locals try to express their gratitude to the guardian angel of the mountain stream. These rites try to illustrate the concept of oneness of the human being and the nature as well as to what extent water is linked with the life-cycle of the mountain people.

They are tajik people, their language is different with majority farsi loan word and they understand dari but their culture abit different to other tajik. Could be that these people have been mixed Alexander and his horsemen.

Mansur, Alexander never was in Badakhshan region, he was in area of Khujand in northern Tajikistan, if there are offspring's if we presume that some Sogdians, Khorezmians, Bactrians who may had blood connections with Greeks and they found shelter from invading Arab Muslims in Badakhshan region and if they were absorbed by local Badakhshani people, then they may have those genes that are common for Greeks and Badakhshani people, this type of studies are available this days. I did mine to see if I have also, because I always thought that I may have Sogdian bloodline and maybe Greek blood also but the result turned up to be that I don't have Greek blood, but I have Basques, Norwegian, Baltic, and major Iranian with Southern Asian matched with blood of Brahmins of India and very small portion Baluch blood also. So as you may see I have all history of Indo-European peoples rout of migration picture in my blood, now go and figure out who am I?

С точки зрения исламского богословного учения- это рассматривается как-джахилия т.е. язычество. Хотья в некоторых горных местностях Памира подобные святыни давно приобрели исламское название, раннее они почитались совсем инными названиями.

Actually, this is Tajikistan. But, this Pâmir region which is situated between Afghanistan and Tajikistan is exactly identical on both sides of the border. The only only difference is in the Russian ending last names of the people of Tajikistan. Otherwise, there is no difference.

Amaan Saifi they are tajik pamiris , well they kept their culture tradition and got mixed with islam. If they werent muslim , they would have faced prosecution from the taliban and other ethnicities around them. Afghanistan 99.8% muslim. If you say they arent muslim because they pray to the water, thats your view as fundamental islamist.
