By the way the nearest star to Earth is the Sun with a distance of (9.375*(10^7) miles)

Congrats for covering this Subject, as well as the tough one on Infinite Series, very well. Perhaps, on this subject of Scientific Notation for Numbers, you may consider adding a Sequel - to cover the IEEE 754 (or later edition) on Floating Point Scientific Notation - for “float”, “double”, “long double (80 bits)” Number-Vars too. Would appreciate if you could send me an email, whenever you have uploaded such a Sequel Video to cover the IEEE 754 (or later edition) Numbering System.

when the ten in the scientific notation is raised to a negative power that means that where dividing by ten many times1x(10^-9) = 1/(10^9)

Interesting you chose 1879. That is the year that Einstein was born… I do not think that was a coincidence.

Isn’t the Sun our nearest star? That’s only 193,000,000 miles away.

93,000,000 not 193,000,000 Cuz it is 150,000,000 in km and miles are definitely longer than kilometers

i need more videos like this im really dumb i needed more examples

MarioStar13 Hey there. I am trying to understand Scientific Notation while watching this video. Let me just say straight off I enjoy MyWhyU and I think they do a nice job. However, it appears I found the same error you did. They had too many O's in their representation of a Youtosecond. They should only have had 23 O's between the decimal point and the 1. Instead, they show 24 O's. For what they present the correct Scientific Notation should have been 1 x 10^-25. I am only writing to make aware to those you diligently follow along and actually try to understand what is being represented. I am not trying to embarrass the producers of these videos. They do a great job and personally I enjoy them very much.

Seattlenear that’s because the zero on the left of the decimal is included when using negative powers of 10 when identifying small numbers between zero and 1.
@gobyg-major20575 жыл бұрын
Seattlenear and it’s actually yoctosecond, not youtosecond...and it’s actually supposed to have too many zeros because it’s significantly small

Not that I want to be too meticulous, but "the nearest star" is, in fact, the Sun. Which is tad closer than Alpha Centauri (roughly 4.25 light-yrs vs approx. 8 light-minutes). Other than that - a great videos! I wish I could watch them back when I was in primary - my life woud have been (had been?) much easier. But I guess they didn't have KZbin back in seventies, did they?... ;-)

@@ManzoorKhn212 Hah, that's great! Gettin' someone response to my comment posted EIGHT years ago! : ) Obviously, I had to go through the video again to see what I actually commented on, and it was (and still is): 2:13 - "For instance, the distance to the nearest star is 25 trillion miles". So, he said, in plain English, "distance to the nearest star" - NOT "distance to the star that is closest to the Sun". Obviously, I knew he meant Alpha Centauri, but his wording was less than perfect nonetheless. And yes, it was a bit of nit-picking on my side, and that's why I opened my comment with "Not that I want to be too meticulous". But still it's one thing when a layman is talking about "night sky and stars" and then mentions "the nearest star, Alpha Centauri" - and another one when educational video about natural science is making such... inaccuracy. Yes, not big deal, and nothing really to do with the subject or maths, but "it just don't belong here". Cheers.

Isn't the sun a star, which is 92.0 million miles away from Earth, so your thing saying that the nearest star is 25000000000000 away is bogus. THE SUN IS A STAR!!!!
