My husband and I went to Aldi and to Sam's Club over the past several days and after our most recent trips, when I began to unpack the groceries to put things away, I realized how much stuff we already have on hand. I tend to be a creature of habit when it comes to what I eat so naturally our refrigerator and freezer has those items in it and they also then tend to be what we purchase in terms of restocking. But there were tons of other items within those spaces that I had totally forgotten that we even had on hand. And because of having such a large number of food items (especially in our freezer), I had to pretty much remove everything and reorganize in an attempt to get everything inside so that I could get the lid tightly closed. So it is my goal throughout the rest of 2024 and as we move into 2025 to really use what we have and only stock up on the items that we actually need ~~ things like milk, eggs, bread, etc. We definitely do not need to bring any more meat items into our home for a while. And the same is true for canned and boxed food items. Use what I currently have and then only bring in what we are actually out of. We live in a very small house (approx. 900 square feet) and it was built in the 1950s. With this there is an overall lack of storage throughout our home so we just don't have the space for tons of overstock and abundance. Plus, you want to use up what you have before everything expires. Groceries are expensive so we definitely do not want to be wasteful.

Talking about bittersweet, we became empty nesters this week. Happy and excited for my last college grad to launch follow their dreams and get their first post college job, will be an adjustment for hubs and I. Thinking right after holidays I'm going to declutter and do a major reset of our home.

Growing up in a large family, saturdays were the busiest days. Some would be home for dinner, some out doing whatever. My mom always made soup that morning in a crock pot. She used pretty much every left-over in the fridge, cleaning the fridge out as she went. As each of us came home there was always a steaming hot bowl of soup waiting for us. I still find this the best way to use up left-overs and keep the fridge clean.

I recently bought the AllerEase mattress protector. Mine is their Platinum version which completely covers the mattress. The difference from yours is that the top part of the protector zips off for washing. So you don't have to remove the whole protector to wash it, just the top. Amazon has the king size for $55. Figured I would share in case you decide to change the one you currently are using. I love your videos and look forward to watching each week.

This past week was a rollercoaster of emotions for my hubby and I. I went to the ER last Sunday evening after Mama Mel's video. I found out that I have 2 fistulas (caused by my Crohn's) that are connected from my bladder to my intestine. I have an infection around my intestine. I don't see my GI doctor till January. My hubby was just approved for total shoulder replacement surgery last week after fighting to get it since 2009. Our youngest grandson gets tested this week for Autism. My hubbys cousin was told he needs a kidney transplant and goes today for evaluation for it. We appreciate all the prayers in advance. God Bless.

Ugh I know health troubles throw a wrench in all. Really have nothing without it. I took my daughter to see this wonderful independent singer, Livingston...live in Baltimore a few weeks ago. He has autism.....and he is mind blowingly talented. Thriving. Just goes to show what faith can do. I'm happy your husband was approved! I hope you get in before deductibles reset! I have a habit of once a week we have left over night. It is usually Thursday. My family doesn’t mind they grab their favorite meal of the week. One will finish the manwich, or spaghetti etc then if anything isn’t taken or little left trash day is Fri. That way my fridge is cleaned weekly. I just started this happen six years ago when my daughter in law shared it. It works great for me. We make a monthly menu from our freezer n pantry. We use a white board calendar for our menu but we do not 100% eat what’s on menu for a certain day. We can easily switch Mon n Wed. Grocery shopping list is usually on menu circled in red. Such a frozen knots may be on menu with spaghetti or a certain cheese. This has really cut down on wasting food. I agree with you on snacks do favorite but finish up all b4 new comes in.😊

I’ve slowly been cleaning out my freezer the last few weeks, and the pantry. It’s amazing how creative you can be if you just put your mind to it. BTW, watching the Bills and Rams game right now. Hi Jamie, We use the fully encased allergen mattress protector also. I add a good fitted mattress pad over it and wash that one regularly with my sheets, so that I don't take the full encasement off more than once every 3 months. Idk if others would consider that gross, but it really doesn't get dirty and my allergies remain in check.

You should wear a mask whenever youre dusting. Unless youre vacuuming the surfaces its blowing into the air using any cloth! Wiping moves a lot of it right up into the air. So if youre constantly wiping your constantly moving dust into your air. Try the vacuum more and less wiping
