I had one of these and it’s actually a gorgeous watch, but I got rid of it because I simply could not read the date. It’s a great value for a perpetual, but I realized that I really didn’t need to look at my watch to know what year it is. An annual calendar with a large date is what I what. I don’t care about changing the date once a year and I always know the day and month, but I rarely, if ever know the date, so I want be able to quickly glance at my watch and see the date. That’s impossible with this watch. My holy grail watch, since almost the time it was released, is the Lange Annual Calendar. It’s exactly what I’m looking for, except it’s ridiculously expensive and out of production and apparently basically impossible to find new. I would prefer new, rather than used. I live in FL, but am actually taking a trip to NYC in 2 weeks and just talked to the boutique there and the salesman said he MIGHT be able to track one down or get one from Germany, but he said it would probably be unlikely. I guess I should have pulled the trigger years ago.

Ya, I feel the same.... I just wish that jlc just make a day date with moonphase... These three complications will make a very good display and when fitted in a ultra thin case, it will be a blast 🎉🎉 I think one day, jlc will surely think on it

From others who got it serviced: $1,500 US. I just called JLC. They recommend a full service every 5 years. There is an 8y extended warranty, but if you haven't had a full service in that 8 years, you may be on the hook. Hope that helps.

casio for 30 dollars also, so does sarb 033 .. whats ur point ? how can u even compare an ultra high end complication that would cost 60 k + from patek, to a dual time watch from a mass production brand ? actually for a perpertual it does not get better price wise !

wait wait. i dont understand your comparison here. patek uses GOLD and this one is stainless steel. how can you compare? patek is also better finished. and patek is better in resale value. JLC is no match. if JLC is in gold, this would cost almost like patek which makes patek version is BARGAIN

panda not sure if u are trolling me ... but the patek perpertual is about 85 new on a gray market (65 if u go with those dodgy hong kong sellers) the jlc in gold is 20. its 45 k differnce in the best scenario. then u say its better in resale. no, its a myth. the only watches are better in resale are hulks, batmans and daytonas + nautilius. and the last one is only better in resale new. the moment u wear it, the price start deprecaiting like it would for breitling. no patek has its value being increased (unless they are extremly limited in production). secondly gold is a very, very soft metal, which will show a lot of scratches and the price of 80 g (the weight of the watch) is only 3.300 dollars. so its not anything special. plus the momvent is wayyy to old for 2018. the jlc is by far a better movement. thinnest movment (after those utlra high class models like the new royal oak). and thirdly my whole point is was u cant comapre. i never compared... all ive said id that if u wanna play big u would have to pay 60+ plus for a patek. this jlc is a very nice proposition as a watch ( who cares about the finishing... if u would a nice finishing got get a manual wind lange .. that a real finish ... not where the rotor blocks half of the movement from the 80s like it is the case in the patek). all watches have differnt charm and style and of course brand. but u can never compare a jlc to a seiko. u do however can comapare a jlc to a patek. for many reasons... Hybris Mechanica à Grande Sonnerie can be compared to 6300G. look we all know patek is a nice watch .. but their momvenets were always made by jlc. and untill today many watches from jlc are by far superior thana pateks... just that the patek makes a better decoration (which is also not even true with some watches) ...so i will let you be with ur GOLDEN PATEK (lol)

Hi Andy, sorry dude, i did not mean to troll you and to be frank, i had to do my research here before i can reply but based on my research, the patek 3940 can be had for roughly abour 50k AUD used and JLC 17k AUD. so patek is like 3x more expensive. but the difference is actually more like 30K AUD, if you talking in USD, we talk about 20k USD. i dont understand your point that says no patek has increased? what about that 5960P black dial? or 5575? the price has gone up. This part, i disagree with you. when you say the movement from 80s that is blocked, what is it? 204 movement? sorry i really want to learn, please let me know. Please let me know which JLC movement that you think is more superior than patek's , i really want to do research about it. I would be very happy if JLC was as good as patek but to be frank, it is hard to digest that. true, they used to make movement for holy trinity watches but the finishing of patek is far above JLC. JLC is value for money though, that i agree.

5960P price did go up its true and maybe 5575 ( although i am not sure if its also true for the used models). i remember tim from watchuwant ( the guy knows a lot about the movements) said that the momvenet in the perpetual (sadly i forgot in which one exactly as they have a few... but most probably 204) was extremly outdated and not up to the standarts of the patek no longer... if i will find the video i will show u ... but it was in one of those weekly 6 pm lets talk about watches videos ... look 5327R is a beatiful watch ... soemthing jlc will never be ... and who cares about the movement is its so much better looking.. but thats exactly what ive ment with my comment that you can only compare apples to apples ... u shouldnt be comparing this complicated movement to a seiko... its not fair .. just liek u should nto be comparing this to the perptual from patek that has invested its money and time into the details ... in my opinion duometre models are a very intersting proposition that would cost i donno how much from patek ( they dont even have such complications ).... jlc perpettual ultra thin is also nice ... its thin, has a higher frequncy than the micro rotor from patek ... and generally i believe pateks have fragile movemvents ... but they shouldnt be what other watches should be .. its like comparing an oldtimer or a sport car from lambho to a everyday svu from lets say VW ... these are special watches ... and if i buy a luxury piece maybe its better to buy a patek .. because of the name alone

I always wonder about the sort of person that makes vids like this. Why do they never watch what they produce before launching on to KZbin? Just what someone looking for JLC needs: an idiot reviewer who has shaky hands, who never placed the watch on a stable surface for even a few seconds so that the audience (that they must be making this for, right?) can actually see the watch. Is it lack of thoughtfulness, too focused on themselves, or just a basic lack of intelligence? Channel blocked…
