Pre Spawn Brown Trout Streamer Fishing

How to streamer fish for brown trout during the pre spawn window. I'll go over some flies, rods, and fly line choices for the situation that day. Ultra low and clear water fishing on a large Michigan river. The day we went was still a little early in the season with terrible conditions. We caught some fish and made the best out of a sunny and warm September day.

It's been 80 degrees in eastern Pa. The suck is still in full swing here for me. Supposed to cool off this coming week. I fished a few hours yesterday. Didn't see a fish. I owe you for a recommendation from your 2019 sink tip gear video. Went with the 24 ft. 200 gr. rio for my 6wt, and 300 gr. Rio for my 9 wt. Both chucked like a dream. Very happy to get rid of the predator elite line. It sucked for me. I used Kelly's streamer max long when I first started, but it was only great out of the boat. I was stepping all over it with spikes when wading. Chewed that stuff up. Floating runner is tits. Thank you sir!

Thanks man. I ran 25/20/15 in Maxima Chameleon down to 12 carbon. Could have gone to 10 but that was in the motor boat. About 6' of leader

Do you prefer a taller profile fly when fishing more perpendicular to the bank?

Not necessarily. I just try and stick to what they are keyed in on that day or time of year
