That is the nicest D 18 I've heard in my entire life of 67 years. What a fantastic job prewar guitars is done you wouldn't be able to hear this type of Tonewood unless you had a very old well played guitar that would take decades to get to sound like this. Thank you for sharing this beautiful guitar with us!

Geez...Every time I see yet another video, of an instrument from Pre-war Guitars, I start to feel like one of Pavlov's dogs. Wes, Ben and crew, are doing a 000-G build for me (Level 1, 'cause I can beat it up, all by myself. Thank you). It's due around the end of my 65th revolution around old Sol, late next year. Good thing, that time seems to go quicker, these days. ;-)

This guitar appears to be a herringbone/rosewood model given the binding and backstrip, and inlays as well, but it is a mahogany “D” model, yes? Sounds fantastic, and your playing is excellent, just want to clarify for those of us who may have one on order, especially. Sounds like mahogany, but, all appointments are the herringbone model, so, just in case…

If you can’t afford a 1930s Martin’ or an exceptional Martin from the 40s-50s. Then These Guitars would fit the Bill’ for a lot less Money! So would a Collins’/Santa Cruz or a host of other Quality Martin Clone Copy’s. Great picking there👍🇺🇸

Rock Bottom Gear Reviews , Wow I would have swore it was rosewood from the depth of bass tones. Great news to know. I think your video has helped me to decide on a D-2018 instead of a D model. That D-2018 sounds a lot like a rosewood D-28 to me. Nice, very nice.
