Led Zeppelin 1 came out the same year I dropped Acid for the first time in 1969. I'm 68 now. I was 13 then and that was the first album I ever bought. I used money from my paper route to buy it. That was my first trip to downtown Long Beach, CA by bus by myself to buy the album. So many times tripping in my bedroom listening to it. It was fifteen years later I got to meet Plant backstage at a Donovan concert at the Santa Monica Civic. He was in a wheelchair from a car accident and asked me to push him around. The rest of the band was in the audience. I was a production assistant for Fun Productions that put on the show in 1976(?) and this song was a part of that show. Kudos to the producer of this video! I've done a few like this many years ago in the early days of youtube and it isn't easy.

I had tickets to see them in Atlanta when they had to cancel because of that accident! I was heartbroken! I should have kept the tickets but I had to return them and get my $11 (!!!) back cause I was also broke! Usually, musical combinations like this do not always work as well as this did. But this was superb. I was wondering what Fred Astaire would have thought of the whole thing and have decided he would have - pardon - gotten a real kick out of it. It's not like he was totally against rock music. He went to go see an Alice Cooper show with Groucho - who was a close friend of Groucho. And being a really good drummer, himself how could he help but like Bonzo.

Most movies these days have the characters acting like total jerks to each other, but Fred manages to actually be a *gentleman* while correcting someone, and Rita reciprocates. This is brilliant. I love Led Zeppelin! And I really miss all this dancing, that's flat out athleticism. My favorite thing was Ginger Rogers comment about dancing with Astaire, that she did the same thing with 6" heels on.

If only it were true, and not a snarky shot taken because she didn't like him. Fred Astaire incorporated considerably more flourishes to the same steps, no idea how everybody just accepts that comment as true (I just came from another video with them dancing, and saw this comment about 10 times). I know she's gorgeous and all, but you only have to watch them dance once to see it's not true.

I don't know. In six-inch heels she would have been noticeably taller than Astaire. Sounds like just a quip. In addition to that she was 12 years his junior.

What a brilliant combination of two very unlikely entities. The almost superhuman dancing of Fred Astaire and the enduring power of Robert Plant and Led Zeppelin. If this doesn't make you smile then I feel sorry for you. An incredible pairing and the creative minds @ Retro Video both deserve a Standing Ovation!!!

@@alemgas Michael Jackson was also good friends with Fred Astaire and created Smooth Criminal as an homage to him. My point is that MJ worked in and extended the Astaire tradition (with some James Brown thrown in for seasoning).

I'm not sure that even a time-travelling Zep fan/movie director from 1971 could have made this fit more magically with the track, even if they went back to 1941 and shot the film just for that purpose. One of the greatest sync jobs of all time. GOAT Sync.
