Established in 1947, the club is located 15 minutes south of Midlothian, Texas, which is itself at the southern edge of the Dallas/Fort Worth area. The club is maintained and operated by the voluntary efforts of its more than 200 members. The club operates from its own airfield and owns six single and four two-place sailplanes, plus four Pawnee tow planes. TSA operates year-round on most flyable Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The club also operates on an unscheduled basis on other weekdays when the flying weather is really good! Why learn to fly gliders? The Wright brothers knew that the way to get into aviation was through gliders. Their experiments in design and practical application in flying gliders helped them to understand the complexities of powered flight. If you are new to aviation, learning to fly gliders provides basic skills valuable to any aviation pursuit. Nice work, precision landings are critical to practice. A critique of your circuit, here in New Zealand we teach students to do decent turn onto each base and finals. Your turn onto finals in particular was a very gentle curved turn. The reasoning is: a gentle turn is more likely for a student to let the airspeed wash off during the turn, and/or start over ruddering around the turn. That's the most likely time to drop a wing and go into an inadvertent spin, near the ground. By doing a decent turn, say 30-45 degrees, it ensures the pilot does a solid, deliberate turn, and is less likely to go into a spin. Different countries teach different circuit pattern shapes however, so I'm aware you might teach it that way in the US. The UK for example teaches a 45 degree 'corner' at the end of the downwind, to help keep the airfield in sight. Cheers from NZ!
