Need to stress that the name Precision alludes to the addition of frets. Upright players had to be skilled in intonation (albeit on a much longer scale) whereas on a smaller 34" scale, adding frets provided guaranteed note precision, without risk of microtones.

​@@asd7026start with flat (12 o'clock) EQ settings on your amp. Experiment with different tone knob settings & right hand finger placement vs plectrum before messing with EQ. You'll be surprised at how simple changes like that can affect sound. You can get into trouble with EQ extremes when an engineer has you going through a PA. He may have to make major adjustments to make the bass fit the room and find a spot in the band's mix.
