I met Jesse Ventura one time and asked about the stereo scene, "wouldn't that have been loud and alerted enemies to you coming in?" he said "no more loud than the chopper blades, that's the difference between you and I, you probably never served in the military, were you there? how do you know?" Then he made love to my wife in a Comfort Inn.

Ventura is an egomaniac . He always brags .. and talks about how this movie brought him right back to the jungles of Vietnam in his mind . What he doesn't say is that when he ran for Gov , it was found he never was awarded a combat ribbon , in Vietnam . Meaning he never served in combat , like he makes many believe . He's just a insecure jerk .

My #1 favorite Arnold Schwarzenegger movie!! Facts you didn't know about the movie: Jean Claude van Damme played the Predator in some parts of the movie, but quit production as he was tired of wearing the original suit, which looked like a lizard insect hybrid. He even wanted to kickbox Arnold but the producers refused. Kevin Peter Hall, RIP, was cast as the titular character as he was more of an intimidating opponent for Arnold's character Dutch, being 7'2". The PREDATOR suit was done by Oscar Winning VFX company Stan Winston Studios and would later return to the franchise for PREDATOR 2 in 1990. Half the cast and crew got food poisoning except for Arnold and Director McTiernan whom ate Spaghetti O's and PBJ Sandwiches like Spielberg and Ford on Raiders Of The Lost Ark. Schwarzenegger would later hire his own personal Chef to give the actors the food they needed. The producers hired a bodyguard to protect people from Sonny Landham RIP whom played Billy, as he was prone to violent outbursts. Landham said in an interview, "We weren't making a movie, it was a survival story for all of us." It was 110° in the shade while it was 42° at night. It rained for 2 weeks, making filming even more difficult. It was a box office success, making $100 million dollars ($350 million dollars today) against an $18 million dollar budget. It was nominated for Best Visual Effects but lost to InnerSpace. It's now considered to be one of the best Sci-fi Action movies ever made.

Arnold wasn't the only Predator actor to become a governor. Jesse "The Body" Ventura was the governor of Minnesota before Arnold got elected in California, and Jesse was in the old WWF. Check out his work, his ... commentaries (waxing sarcasm) with Vince McMahon and Mean Gene Okerlund. He displayed a particular dislike for Hulk Hogan back in the day. Jesse was also a Navy Frog man during the Vietnam era.

I think Bill Burr summed up Arnold Schwarzenegger pretty succinctly. "Anyone else think they can move to Austria, learn the language, become famous for working out, become a movie star, marry into their royalty, then hold public office? How many life times would you need? I'm on my third attempt at Rosetta Stone Spanish!!" Great reaction Mr. G! I'm enjoying your videos man. Great stuff. Predator is obvious a big favorite for many people. I do recommend the sequel. It's a messier movie, not quite as well made as Predator, but still a helluva lot of fun. Danny Glover is not the first choice for most people to go up against the Predator, but he does a great job.

The idea is that the team is the best. It's tight. They're like family. They have the training and the experience. Fun fact: The original predator was played by Jean Claude Van Damme. The original costume was more of an insect looking creature with a harpoon gun for a hand. It looked bad and Van Damme quit because wearing the suit was awkward and uncomfortable. He also had issues with the director. Afterwards, the Predator was redesigned into what we see and Kevin Peter Hall was cast. He’s nearly 7 feet tall. He also played the black helicopter pilot near the end.

To answer your questions that you had at the end of the movie, you have to realize that the predators are hunters, they go to other planets to hunt for a worthy opponent, if you show yourself to be brave strong and willing to fight in a fair fight the predator will consider you a Worthy opponent to fight you hand on hand combat. The predator kind of figured out that Dutch was sly, strong and brave to fight him the way he did with booby traps and all. So that gave Dutch a place of honor for the predator to consider him good enough to fight. The predators are usually teenagers when they are sent out to hunt thier prey as an initiation to adulthood and be classes as brave warriors. There is a lore about them and also comic books that you can read and learn about their ancestry & History over the centuries. Very interesting and they even have female predators as well. You have to watch predator 2 with Danny Glover, Bill Paxton, and Guy busey! I wanted to say thank you for the reaction you're so awesome at it 👍

Not sure when or even why it was changed. But originally we learned that this was not a one time thing. From an ancient Indian legend. That Billy was familiar with. I've always given the Dillon character some credit. If you're going to be "dropped into a meat grinder". Not often the person doing the dropping goes in with you. Yeah it's motivation is pretty unique compared to most "evil aliens". Love that franchise....most of the time.

I've never had any trouble with bears. I've literally 10 yards from a bear once. Who was getting a drink of water from the a stream. This movie is unique for its time. It starts out as a typical 80s war movie and the last half changes genre. And becomes a horrific gore monster film who happens to be extraterrestrial. This film doesn't explain a lot about the Predator. And that's a great deal apart of the allure. And why it has become such a cult classic. The audience is left wanting more. A lot of the sequels explain too much. Predator loses its luster and no longer feels frightening, as a result. If we must have sequels, reveal a tiny bit of its lore but just enough to beg even MORE questions!! Keeping the mystique of Predator alive for generations to come!! My opinion. -OG

Originally Arnold was supposed to fight the predator straight out. But Arnold himself went "yo this is an alien superior stronger species. I shouldn't win via strength. How does that make sense?" And throughout pretty much every preddy plot. It's our cleverness that beats them. It's becomes canon even that they love to hunt us because of how smart we are. loved a lot that you picked up on. I always love seeing other vets react to this movie. We just get it all so much more. Also the preddy doesn't come every year. "Only the hottest of years this happens. And this year grows hot." The Yautja are honor hunters. If you are not a threat they will not hunt you. Same if you are Ill with like cancer. If you are pregnant the child can't defend itself so it will not kill the mother. They kill based of threat level and the honor of a kill. Great reaction man!! As always super glad you got into this. Had no idea you hadn't seen this movie.

This movie is so damn good. I’ve been a fan of Arnold since I was a kid, that man is a legend. The new predator movie called Prey is pretty good too.

In the making of Predator Arnold explained that every morning he Jesse and Carl Weathers would run 10 miles and workout afterwards and that he was super impressed by them.

Fun Fact: Sunny Landham (Billy) wasn't allowed to be cast for this film (per the insurance company), unless the studio hired a bodyguard for him.... To protect EVERYONE ELSE from Sunny! He had a bit of a temper...

I took an Ranger buddy to play Airsoft once. He did all that tracker stuff. He would point out all kinds of detail im the terrain we never noticed. He knew all of the animal tracks too. He was like, a dear ran past here 5 minutes ago it had just gotten back from shopping. Then he disappeared for an hour, and we couldn't find him. Showed up later, and just said, "I was there..."

I recommend doing Predator 2, with Danny Glover, it will help fill in the overall story about the Alien. Sooner or later Crabface is gonna come across a Jedi, who which light sabre off his Crocodille hands.

the second movie stars Danny Glover (Murtaugh from Lethal Weapon) as the protagonist, it's also very good action packed, taking place in LA. There are cameos from "Alien"/"Aliens" at the end, and Bill Paxton (the actor who played "Hudson") has a role in it too, it also fleshes out some backstory for the Predators race of aliens if you pay attention.

It's awesome that Predator 2 goes to an urban jungle, actually gives a reason why the Predator is there and even uses some of the same tribal music.

Ive never seen any reactor pick up on this but when Dillon said to Dutch, "what you gonna try next? cheese." dutch looked at him for a sec then stepped out in to the open. Dutch thought that was a good idea so he offered himself up as the cheese.

Them one liners in this movie still get me. Love the theme and soundtrack of this movie. When they all shoot alongside the minimum, that blew my mind as a child that they didn't hit anything.

If you wanna check out some more Arnold movies where he really gets to show off his acting, react to "Total Recall" and "True Lies." Both are damn good action films that also let him really play some great characters!

I always loved how unique the Peedator is in terms of its horror elements. It's not a savage beast like a werewolf or a completely alien entity like a Xenomorph. It's a trophy hunter with its own technology and culture, and it's on Earth purely to hunt and prove itself by targeting the apex predators of the planet: humans.

34:20 despite their gory reputation the Yautja (the Predator race) is honorable with a VERY strict code for hunting, except for the Bad Bloods. They’re pretty strict about not killing women, especially if she’s pregnant, Predator 2 shows this. The comics, and some of the later movies, go into this too

British Medieval longbows had a draw of 100lbs or more. Archers had to be trained from childhood to achieve the upper body strength to use one. The one used here wasn't nearly as strong as that - but it didn't need to be.
