There is a very tiny plastic fuel filter inside the metal tube on the carburetor (or as Taryl says carbitrator). I know because I saw one clogged once..

It's always best to drain the oil after it's been working as the oil drains out with contaminants quickly. It holds only 13oz of 10w-30 which means 2 oil changes per quart with 6 oz to spare. It's much easier and less mess to pour 13oz into 1qt.,, then tip Inverter opposite to drain and dump the oil in. QT. bottles have a clear strip and 12oz is clearly marked and there is pour spouts for cheap. What's best is a gear oil bottle as you don't need a funnel. The dipstick is useless as owners manual says oil should be at top of threads and says nothing about dipstick itself, same as my 3500's. Oil level is the same as the old B&S engines. Very simple. There is no oil pump, it has a simple, reliable splash lubrication used for decades. Great video and enjoyed chickens. Blue Whale Adventures on Y.T. Smoke can be from several things. I experience smoke when I move the generator and it gets tipped sometimes. oil will get past the rings. How old is your generator? sometimes when you start it up for the first time in a long time it will smoke as the rings are dry and shrunken, but that should go away in a short while.

Bought mine at pawn shop. No manual or tools. How many hours can you run this before you change oil. Were currently using ours in a power outage here in kentucky. Neighbors say 48 hours

I change mine in the spring and in the fall. It seems to work great. I run mine in the winter 4-5 hours every 3 or 4 days. This is about 350hrs between the fall and spring changes. I keep an eye on it and it uses a little oil so I top it off now and again. but she seems to run fine. Thanks for watching.
