Well you did a great job. Now I need to figure out whether I want to chance buying this generator or not. And I'm not that mechanically inclined like you! Thank you so much for the video!

Just had 2 tornadoes in NE Ohio(weird). My brand new Predator 6500 shut off constantly after running as few as 28 minutes to 1 hour and 32 minutes. That night was terrible having to wait for sensor to reset and then going out back to restart. I jumped the wires you instructed and it ran for 15 1/2 hours straight!!! My family and I appreciate you taking the time to make this video, life saver!!!!🫡

@damu216 man I'm so sorry you guys had to deal with all that. But glad it all worked out for you and you're family. Those are scary times. We get them here In Florida too.

The CO shutoff system is a critical safety feature which can help to prevent the risk of sudden illness and death resulting from the accumulation of undetected CO, which is an odorless, colorless gas impossible for the human senses to detect. The health and safety of our customers remains our top priority and we recommend discontinuing any use of this product without a functioning CO shutoff system.

I totally agree and made that very aware to anyone watching this. Since I use this outdoors only I felt safe enough to do this. Thank you for your concern.

You buy this for emergencies only for it to run 30 minutes to an hour before CO2 sensor trips for no apparent reason. What should we do Harbor Freight? Serious question.

CO2 sensors belong in your house not on a generator they cause a false sense of security

Disconnect the co2 sensors then Disconnect the plug from the control box and then jump the two brown wires. This works I am an electrician and this problem just happened to me today August 4

@kennethashcraft877 I just left mine completely unplugged and it's been working fine. Is there a benefit to jumping the controller box. Asking because I literally have no idea. Mine as been running perfectly since I disconnected all that. Been a couple months now.

Good job your video helped me with my 6500,mine was shutting off because of the oc sensor

I have had my 6500/5500 for about 25 days and has about 52 hours of run time. It is powering my pull trailer that has a full size roof AC. Well it just shut off and will not start. Hence how I found your channel and this video, so I'm going to give your advice a try with a follow up by EOD. 🤞

Starts up but shuts off after 5 or 10 seconds. Can a part be ordered and replaced and if yes what is part number/name.

I have a 9500 2 hours on it. Same problem. I disconnected that box, and it runs. What does that janex box do/control?

@chrisesposito4906 the manual doesn't say so I'm not exactly sure.

Thank you it fixed the engine running issue but now I have no power to the outlets. Are you supposed to jump some wires to bypass this control box cause engine running fine now nut no power to outlets help

@@tobyraymejia6298 I didn't have to jump anything. I left all that unplugged

Brand New out of the box and mine is doing the same thing.. constantly shutting down..I'm gonna have to disconnect all that crap
@chris_03svt3 ай бұрын
@@JakeStatefarm-y6y just be careful if you use it indoors or in confined spaces. Can definitely be harmful with the CO not being detected. But I had to with mine just to use it.

I have that gennie too. CO sensor super sensitive. Brand new and kept shutting down...disconnecting and jumping the connector to the CO sensor fixed it. Chinese crap ...you buy it new and need to fix it!!!
