I'm just getting ahead of this a bit as an Everton fan, it's only non-Everton fans saying we're not going to be near the drop again. Well, a lot of non-Everton fans are also saying we're definitely going down and think we've been fighting relegation for 10 years the way they go on, when it's only been 2. The truth is somewhere in the middle. We've had a bad transfer window so far and if we don't make some big improvements this month we'll be finishing like 16-19th and relying on other teams being even more shite than us again, and Everton fans know this. We also had the lowest recorded optimism score in Fan Hope Survey history. So when we're 18th come Christmas don't be coming at blues saying "you said you wouldn't be in a relegation battle again"
