I’m calling it now, the fly ties to “the lord of the flies” which is a story that not only explores human nature (or it’s organisation/communities, maybe that’s what the vampire mansion is all about) but also AND MOST IMPORTANTLY: LOST OF INNOCENCE, which is the thematic center to mcr (like 9/11, skylines and turnstiles: can we still reclaim our innocence?!) if you really think about it, foundations of decay (get up coward!) acknowledges the pain of losing that innocence and trying to move forward despite all the wreckage, like you gotta build from that

Love the video, I enjoyed hearing your theories! My theory is they originally planned to do an album release in 2021 that was set to a theme of 9/11 - hence releasing an album during the 20 year anniversary of 9/11. But the pandemic hit & that was not possible. I think the album will still be themed around that. In a podcast interview Gerard said that since vampires became cool & mainstream they had lost a lot of their appeal to him. So I’m thinking there may be a Pool Boy song but I don’t think the album will be vampire themed.

As a very passionate mcr fan I really enjoyed this video, it all makes sense to me. Also, yes you are dumb! /j Gerard did actually write a song about 9/11 which is Skylines and Turnstiles! Just wanted to point that out! Anyway, since I didn't get to see mcr on the return tour I would love to see them when mcr5 comes out, and I really hope we get some more epic outfits from Gerard. Also, I noticed that you barley mentioned the business woman character that we saw at the Aussie and Japan shows in March, but I think she's gonna play a role in the story (possibly someone who worked at the world trade centre before 9/11?) hear me out what if it's a comeback album and the vampire theme is to basically say the band's music will never die (like vampires) and the death motifs are just a reminder of the origins of the band, and also that the topics that influenced the creation of the band (9/11 and war) still not being resolved or fixed because "yes it comforts me much to lay on the foundations of decay" in the bridge talking about how people still are not actively trying to stop all the wars that went around just because they weren't as strongly affected as 9/11

IM CALLING IT RIGHT HERE. I watched a video essay by Wendigoon on the black parade and if his theory is right that the song “mama” is about the parader (white hair Gerard. The one singing in the black parade lol) and he’s right that the song is about how he died in WW1, I think mcr5 is gonna be about the Parader’s life/time in the war.
