Happy 4th of July from Las Vegas, Nevada. The presidential election this year is on November 5th. The Presidential Inauguration is every four years on January 20th. Next year January 20th is on a Monday. I do wonder though when you said someone important passes, if it could be Former President Carter. He has been in hospice care since last February of 2023, so just under a year and a half now. His grandson came out a few weeks ago and made a statement essentially saying, he thought that his grandfather would pass soon and that there were a lot of days he wasn’t awake. So I do wonder, if that is partially what you saw in the cards. It was a very interesting reading. Election night is always very long. I do hope we will get all the results by the end of the night. We will certainly see what happens. I have a great interest in history and politics, so things like this are always very interesting to me from a historical perspective. Then what happens next so close to an election when in a country that has a two party political system both parties are without a leader leading up to an election? There would be upheavel in the American political system for one thing and high stakes negotiations between both parties and the SCOTUS and the states to delay the election would occur to give time for new leaders of the two major political parties to be named then give them at least days to run a campaign.

Some are speculating there could be a Contingent Election. The house of reps choose the president and/or Senate chooses the vice president. "In the United States, a contingent election is used to elect the president or vice president if no candidate receives a majority of the whole number of electors appointed. A presidential contingent election is decided by a special vote of the United States House of Representatives, while a vice-presidential contingent election is decided by a vote of the United States Senate. During a contingent election in the House, each state delegation votes en bloc to choose the president instead of representatives voting individually. Depends when he resigns. If he resigns now, she'd finish his term in office but that doesn't automatically make her the person who runs against Trump in November. That decision would be up to the Democratic National Convention in August. If Biden resigns after the November election and he's the winner of the election, then Kamala will become the 47th President for a 4 year term. Resigning between the Convention and the November election is a gray area but would probably be up to the Democratic Party to decide who will be on the ballot in November.
