Predjama Medieval Cave Castle (Predjamski Grad) - Slovenia 4K

I forgot to mention in the video: the castle was destroyed and rebuilt twice. First destruction after the siege, then rebuilt around 1511. Second destruction by an earthquake , and the version we see today was built in 1570.

I also heard the castle had a natrual spring inside the cave which provided fresh water for the castle year round, probly one of the reasons the castle was built there.

I am so blown by the architecture and buildings built hundreds of years ago, (in some cases 1000's of years). With no modern equipment, our ancestors were able to build such amazing structures. Unlike now, we need machinery and don't build them as nicely. Thanks for the share.

I love the way this castle was built into the mouth of a cave. It would be so cool to have cave walls make up some of the walls of your castle. The antique furniture and historic artifacts along the way help illustrate the history of those who lived here. The upper level access to the cave is really cool as well. How cool is that, a castle built into a cave. It reminds me of Helms Deep from The Lord of the Rings. The architecture of the castle is very impressive and I loved the story of the knight. You are very lucky to have been able to visit this castle. Excellent video as always my friend!
