Step to the side. ADAM: - What'd you get? BEE IN FRONT OF LINE: - Picking crud out. Stellar! (He walks away) ADAM: Wow! JOB LISTER: Couple of newbies? ADAM: Yes, sir! Our first day! We are ready! JOB LISTER: Make your choice. (Adam and Barry look up at the job board. There are hundreds of constantly changing panels that contain available or unavailable jobs. It looks very confusing) ADAM: - You want to go first? BARRY: - No, you go. ADAM: Oh, my. What's available? JOB LISTER: Restroom attendant's open, not for the reason you think. ADAM: - Any chance of getting the Krelman? JOB LISTER: - Sure, you're on. (Puts the Krelman finger-hat on Adam's head) (Suddenly the sign for Krelman closes out) : I'm sorry, the Krelman just closed out. (Takes Adam's hat off) Wax monkey's always open. ADAM: The Krelman opened up again. : What happened? JOB LISTER: A bee died. Makes an opening. See? He's dead. Another dead one. : Deady. Deadified. Two more dead. : Dead from the neck up. Dead from the neck down. That's life!

The sad issue in society today is that when one is promoted to a position of authority or leadership, people begin to place external pressure and unrealistic expectations on the individual. This is due to there being an "ideal image" of what a leader should be in society (i.e a person who is considered to be confident above all else, a person who cannot make genuine mistakes, a person who is not flawed), people believe that leaders should have all the answers and be proficient in all aspects of leadership thus not allowing them to learn and grow as a leader. People then forget to pay attention to what truly makes one a person with a capacity to lead, such as an ability to engage with people in a constructive way, provide a voice to the voiceless and express empathy. This is why one needs to be emotionally stable and ready to grow and stand despite the unrealistic expectations of externalities and criticism. What a wonderful and insightful video🔥🔥

Aunty Vee! you're an amazing teacher and you always opened my eyes! i think the prefect system is used to create a heirarchy between students but not necessarily in a good way. sometimes the prefects are chosen based on how good they are at academics and sport or even poopularity and not based on leadership skills. I also think that the schools put way to much pressure on the prefects and take away some of their freedom. i think that involving your outside of school self should not be a factor when being concidered for a leadership position and thats what i think schools dont understand! keep doing what you're doing!

this is an interesting area of study! it should progress the condition of the learning environment and how it accommodates all the students, especially those who are put in positions of leadership amongst their peers.

Very insightful. We really don’t consider this when faced with it.

Definitely an interesting research topic to engage with. I also think a learner's interpretation of the role of a Prefect compared to the expectations of their peers would be worth examining. A lot of the times, there tends to be a disconnect between the two, which often leads to Prefects feeling greater pressure to perform in a particular way. Or it often leads to general disappointment for those that were not selected to be Prefects, as they may question their own capabilities and even just general worthiness.
@veronadavids37592 ай бұрын
I completely agree with you, and this is something I will be exploring. As learner leaders often face much pressure from family, friends as well as their schooling environment. Which often makes them invisible and all we see is the title and we forget that they have emotions too.

This is a very important research! I think most of the time, students are not prepared mentally and emotionally for the role. In my experience, it can eat you internally when you are constantly blamed for everything that goes wrong, but are still expected to smile and wave. It takes a toll on an individual. I hope that the results of this research will help young leaders in the future

It is considered an honour to become a prefect in many people's eyes,but one does not consider the emotional implications in doing so or in fact choosing not to do so...I feel as through your research will be extremely beneficial in raising awareness towards this process.I am eager to learn more about it.
