I’m actually really tired of hearing people say things like they switched roles/personalities with each other stuffs, since pregame shuichi (most headcannons) is insane, obsessed with danganronpa while ingame kokichi is nothing like that, he only lies to end the killing game and in all honestly I don’t think he should be called insane. pregame kokichi (based on most headcannons again) is weak and timid, ingame shuichi is a bit timid but not as timid as pregame kokichi is, he’s just like other protagonists, solving trials and mysteries and isn’t the “uwu pure baby boi” like pregame kokichi is (honestly kinda hate that headcannon) thank you for coming to my ted talk edit ; i find a lot of people arguing about how they see the pregames and how it isn’t true about this and that that I said, you’re free to have your own opinion/headcanons but I’m just saying this from most people’s view (i did not expect this much attention in all honesty but ty)

I honestly don't think pregame Shuichi is insane. He seems normal in the prologue and even in the audition tapes, he seems fine just a bit weird and obsessed with Danganronpa. I mean I understand why people see pregame Kokichi as shy and timid (since we didn't get to see his audition tape and he looked scared? in the prologue before the flashback light) but nothing about pregame Shuichi makes me think he's mentally ill. He seemed saner to me than Kaede and definitely Kaito. He just acted like a fan auditioning to be on their favourite show. So in the short term, I suppose it's how you view their pregame personalities and your headcannons (I don't view pregame Oumasai as toxic even though I ship Saimatsu more).
