But before he could share it, Tsumugi killed him and framed Kaede using the trap Keade set up, to convict her. Rantaro also did not believe the footage in the first place, and did not know his ultimate. That's everything we really know about him, and the footage..

He's definitely not normal, but I doubt anybody else in the killing game is. He boils down to an enthusiastic fan. "An ultimate detective has never been the blackened before" wasn't meant to hint at him wanting to die; I think the reason he suggested his own execution was so that his audition would be considered over somebody else's by proposing a unique element to add to the story. Even if people are entitled to their own interpretations, I really wish people had mulled over the audition tapes for _just a bit longer_ before assuming P-G Shuichi was a complete psychopath. :(

I'll just post a headcanon while I was researching some stuff (its pretty stupid but it fits funnily enough): His audition number is 154 and ive been obsessing over goroawase recently, mainly japanese wordplay with numbers. 154 can be read as "hi-ko-shi" which can be a name representing 'seriousness, thought, intuition, intent and wisdom'. It fits in-game Shuichi really well. In the longer explanation, it says "Strong intuition is your greatest weapon. Routines can bore you immensely, so an unusual job where you experience adventure might be best suited." It also goes on about solving mysteries, being reserved and rather shut-in, people showing respect, instincts being unusually sharp... Who knows, could've been his real name (although Kaede called him Shuichi in the prologue so this is all just fun to think about). Another thing is that if they had added one number (instead of 154 it could've been 1564) it would've been hito-go-ro-shi meaning either 'murderer' or 'murdering' as in 'a murder takes place'. Though I personally would've found 4869 (can be read as shi-ya-ro-ku or "Sherlock") funny.

Drv3 Theory: hear me out, so remember when tsumgui said something about how danganronpa is just one huge game/reality tv show?? And how everything is fake, well what if I were to say that it may be true but what if they (DRV3 Characters) were actually remnants of despair that agreed to participate to cause more despair and the whole “Tv show” could just be a repeat of the first dr game which could hint that there might or if the developers want to make another dr game or anime it might be similar to ultra despair girls which is just them trying to restore hope and fighting off different monokuma, maybe relatives to kaede or shuichi hell even the person that made KEE-BO might be in there. Also not to mention the fact how creators of danganronpa might make an anime Might sound far fetched but 🧍‍♀️🧍‍♀️

Here's something that I concluded: Danganronpa may be some really popular franchise that had been going on for several years with several seasons aired. It began with DR:THH, SDR2, the anime and so on. The spin off though, I'm not too sure At one point the director I guess decided it would have been a good idea to have actual teenagers kill each other. This may have started somewhere before the 53rd season, considering that Rantaro had been in these killing games before. We don't know exactly when for sure but we could assume it began somewhat recently. You get to sign up for these killing games, and put your line on the line for fun like that. The characters you see in NDRV3 were real people that had signed up for this, Team Danganronpa would then put them to sleep, alter their personality, background, etc. And put them in a virtual world for them to contribute in the killing game. They'll forget their past selves, their families, friends, maybe even what they had as hobbies, the skills they knew how to do, everything for the killing game. I imagine once the killing game ends for them, the remaining survivors would wake up still as their character and at one point will have to go for some therapy to get back their memories and get rid of the trauma they've face. Those who had died, dies. They get like a deadly shock that kills them instantly. Maybe for those who survived would attend a (mandatory) party or something because they've survived, you could say it's a sick thing to do but who are the ones who wanted to be in a killing game? The rest who died probably just get into coffins like any other. NDRV3 in particular, because of Tsumugi having been revealed as the mastermind when it's usually Monokuma turning into Junko, and that they basically give them an existential crisis for shits and giggles. I think they might've did something 'new' in general. I imagine in the usual killing games, the ones where you are able to participate, they have monokuma turning into Junko and that's it. They then defeat monokuma with hope or whatever, they wake up, get a party because they didn't kill or got killed, and they live the rest of their lives if not participating into another killing game like what Rantaro did until they die (a very suicidal thing to do really). In this, Tsumugi turns into Junko, and it's Junko pretending to be Tsumugi? And then both Tsumugi and Monokuma tells the four about how their lives were a lie? My theory for this: Maybe Tsumugi wasn't a bad person. Maybe Tsumugi could've gotten the opportunity to become a mastermind, because she was asked for it, and she was the first person to be asked as the role of the mastermind in Danganronpa history. I feel that as the mastermind, you are the only person to acknowledge the killing game, you have to try your best to act normally and if you say anything that would ruin the killing game, you get kicked out. You have to follow certain directions that they tell you from like a speaker in your ear, probably not but you're just told what to do. They told her to kill Rantaro, (I don't think she would have much of a reaction) and she obeys. In chapter 6, when she is revealed as the mastermind, they must've have left her in control of everything and told to 'cause despair' or whatever. She takes that for granted and breaks the fourth wall. She starts off slow, beginning by turning into Junko and convincing the others that she was Junko (I think), then moving on to explain the killing game and how it wasn't real to then show them the audition videos. This was all a boost for them for when they wake up they must stop the killing game. If she can convince them the killing game was cruel to the max then she could have them stop the killing game for real. Because in the previous ones where Monokuma turns into Junko and does whatever and the survivors uses the power of hope to defeat him, they wake up thinking they have done the deed in *their killing game*. In this one, Tsumugi want Shuichi and the others to defeat Monokuma in the next killing game, and so on. Basically Tsumugi breaks the fourth wall to convince them the killing wasn't real and uses that to talk about how the killing game will never end and how it kills people literally, drives them into wanting to stop Danganronpa forever. This is an absolute mess. I doubt most of you who managed to read everything I wrote (Thank you by the way) would understand what I'm trying to say. I'm basically writing up a theory on how Tsumugi could've be a good person and had intentions similar to Kokichi's only bigger to stop the killing game. I'd like if you have any contradictions on this so I'll know how to sharpen this essay of mine.
