@@AlbertaRose94 bc not just anyone is educated in administering it or is qualified to administer it. I've had six hospital births and they were all great! I think the biggest piece of advice I can give you is to make sure that you have great communication with your healthcare providers. I think the overwhelming majority of doctors, nurses, and midwives really do want you to have a great birth experience and the best way for you to get that is to communicate with them throughout the whole process. I've done both non-medicated and epidural birth and I have to tell you epidurals are awesome! I'd never go back! 😂

Trash bags on your seat and a towel just in case. If you forget, get your car to a detailer as soon as you can. Don't wait too long to go to the hospital. It sounds like this could go fast. The biggest differences for me was not having the contraction pain and the other would have been not having the humongous urge to push when it’s time. I didn’t have that urge with the epidural. Ok the comments about asking her about moving to a bigger house are annoying the HECK out of me! Where they chose to live is none of our business. I am also in a 2 bedroom house, pregnant with my third baby and don’t plan to leave any time soon. Newborns are more than likely in the master for a good chunk especially if you are a breastfeeding mom. Newborns don’t NEED their own room, it’s all to look aesthetically pleasing for the most part... Just because their way of living is different than most does not mean there is anything wrong with it! With my 1st L&D I wanted to go as long as I could without, I got the epidural just at 8cm. Once I got it I was relieved. Those hours without it were so long and hard! My 2nd I got the epidural earlier and it was so amazing! I labored on my left side baby came down on her own, pushed for maybe 10 mins and she was here! Then with baby 3 & 4 the epidurals didn't work on my left side. It's hard to explain, I guess it took the edge off but I could still feel every contraction! I would continue to get it because each of my babies have been born face up, it's just something with my body but in case of a complication/ emergency c section I would continue to get the epidural. Although my body births them fine face up some women have trouble getting them through like that and end up with a c section. For your hospital bag Id say a nursing nightgown is my #1 top priority.

My advice it to pack minimal . With my first child , I over packed and barely used any of it . 😄 I was way over thinking . Pack all the things you need for down under/up top (after care) , toiletries , a few diapers/wipes 2 favorite baby outfits and a blanket ( for you and baby) and robe /slippers/socks (flip flops for the shower) pretty much sums up all you need . Remember , if you and baby are 100% you will be home in 24-48 hours . I went home in my robe and slippers lol . After baby #4 I felt like a pro packer . The less you bring , the better and easier to leave. You spend most of the time in bed , as long as you and baby feel comfy and smell fresh , no worries . You will be home in no time . ☺️

Hi, Jessa. 🙂 Congratulations on your pregnancy. I don't typically respond in the comments section, but I wanted to share with you since you requested pros and cons to getting an epidural. I've delivered 7 babies. I had an epidural with my first 3, and my last 4 deliveries were natural labors with no epidural. My personal opinion (with experience) is the only pro to an epidural is the quick pain relief, and that's IF the epidural works. I had to get 3 jabs with one of my deliveries...for some reason it just wasn't taking the pain away. There are definitely cons to an epidural. 1. You can't feel anything, so you don't know how hard to push. I didn't know when to push until I was told and couldn't feel how hard I was actually pushing. I tore because of it. 2. You also can't get up and walk around. I had to get a catheter because I couldn't go to the bathroom on my own since I was completely numb waist down. I wasn't able to walk around and get the deliverymoving either. 3. An epidural definitely slows the delivery process...it did on all of mine and my doctor told me that was typical. 4. And there's the huge needle going into your spine! Not a big fan of needles, so that was extremely upsetting to me. Epidurals are also not without risks. People can disagree, but it's proven. There's a reason you sign your life away before getting one. I don't tell you any of this to make you fearful or sway you one way or another. It's a personal decision. I just don't think women are properly informed about the risks and the experiences that go along with getting an epidural. i just wish someone would have shared these things with me before I got one, so I felt compelled to share these things with you. 🙂 When I decided to go natural, it was obviously extremely painful, but it was only for a "short" time. I was able to listen to my body, push when needed without someone telling me, and the healing process was so much faster. I also didn't have to worry about the side effects of the epidural. You are a wonderful mother and God will give you wisdom and discretion about what to do. I just wanted to share what I've learned with you. Every woman is different and will have different experiences. I will be praying for you that God will give you peace about this decision and will bless your sweet and growing family. 💜

Jessa, I’ve had 5 kids. My first 2 I had completely naturally and the last 3 I decided to do hospital and epidural. I will tell you I’m thankful I did the 2 natural first. It gave me the confidence and knowledge on what to expect with my body. I will tell you the epidural was amazing and I was able to enjoy the moments after having baby even more because I wasn’t in so much pain and I was rested. So if I could tell you one thing it would be since you’ve done it naturally try this time with the epidural!!!! Enjoy it!

How can you enjoy your baby when your barfing, have an intense migraine, and can hardly move? Not every woman reacts positively to an epidural.

I live in NWA as well and I'm super excited for you guys! I gave birth at Willow Creek with a midwife in 2020 and had an amazing experience. Congrats Seewald family!

You are so beautiful inside and out Jessa! So happy for your family. I think you made a wise choice having hospital birth considering your bleeding in past. Will pray you have a smooth delivery 🙏😀

You look beautiful! Glad you're going to the hospital this time. Get the epidural! Why be in that pain if you don't have to. Praying for a quick labor and a healthy baby.

Epidural, with all three and I enjoyed all the of my labors because I could relax. Remember no one is going to give you a trophy for having no epidural. So enjoy it! 🦋💗☺️

Exactly! There’s really no reason to suffer.

I'm sure this comment was meant with good intentions, but it seems a bit demeaning to assume that women who go without an epidural do it for some sort of praise. Trust me, as someone who has had two babies without any medication, there are not enough pats on the back in the world to make it worth it. What does make it worth it is knowing that I didn't take an unnecessary risk during labor. There are many positive stories and many negative stories for having an epidural. I don't care what choice anyone makes as long as it is an informed choice. If you think there is no risk, you have not made an informed choice.

@@kimbrown7760 sometimes there is... Sometimes the side effects are worse than the suffering pain of labor... Just depends on the woman.

I had 2 birthing center births and then moved and insurance wouldn't cover the birthing center again so I did two hospital wives with midwives. All 4 natural..the last birth (7 weeks ago) they offered me nitrous and something else for pain management. So if you want help with the pain but don't want the epidural ask about their options!
@stacycamacho592 жыл бұрын
Make sure you go to hospital within the first hour of contractions. Not after. I have 7 kids... Number 4 was crowning in my van by the time we got there, was told to not push.. had to "hold" baby inside. How I did it, I don't even know.. Number 5&6, my twins, went from 2 to 10 in 15 minutes. The last one was about 5 minutes after breaking my water.b
