We were robbed just after the New Year, although it is upsetting I have seen people have it much worse. Right now I'm just thanking God for His mercy.

I am very disappointed in learning how the law enforcement operates in Ghana. I am livid that you all had to go pick the police up and pay them! That is absolutely ridiculous. It's almost liken to you having to bribe them to do a job that they are already being paid to do!!! That sickens me! I am so thankful you and your family are safe. On a more positive note. The home you are building looks so spacious. I am sure it is going to be lovely. Please make sure your burglar proof is properly done. I want you and your family to be safe. Prayers, hugs and kisses to you!

Unfortunately, bribery is very big on the continent of Africa. I prefer to pay in Africa then to get shot in America and the police get away with murder. Dayum if you do, dayum if you don't.

Wow! It really sounds like someone who is familiar with the home and knew that the window was different than the other burglar bars. It makes me wonder if they had loosened the bars earlier and then came back at a later time. So sorry but I am SOOO thankful that you all are well. Gated communities and communities with regular workers are more vulnerable.

+GraceTruthTeacher You hit the nail on the head! I think you are right. The night before it happened a heard a noise and jumped out of my sleep, I didn't hear or see anything again after that so I went back to sleep. I think that's how they managed to enter so quietly the next day.

So sorry that your family was violated Sis., but I'm glad he only took vain things & not lives; All Praises to the Father Ahayah (I AM). That was definitely an inside job where you were being watched. Always be aware of your surroundings cause I know it's not a good feeling when you've been violated because your sense of security got knocked down several levels. The thief believes he wasn't being watched, but the Heavenly Father was watching and he has to answer for his actions if he doesn't repent. Well, I hope you and your family have a blessed day.

Sorry to hear of your trouble. Three of my friends in Kumasi (all locals) have been robbed in recent years (phones laptops usually) and these are not rich individuals by any stretch of the imagination. Every property of any merit in the towns and cities comes enclosed in n eight foot wall usually topped with razor wire. Many places have a security hut and guard too. The police? - that's just the local bribe collection dept.

Oh so sorry to hear this sad event happened. Really very sorry. I know it will take time to heal, 1 day at a time. Thank the Father for His protection. Over here in the UK, we can be struggling just to feed our families and keep a roof over our heads, but the perception by others is that we are wealthy, so so far from the truth. keep looking forward, and may all of your plans be blessed. Although you feel the loss, The FAther is faithful and will find a way to bless you. Discouragements always come, but don't give up. You are a real encouragement to many of us seeking to break free from the constant hustle and have a more productive life for our families. Thanks for sharing. Blessings x

That's a terrible ordeal. Since security and the police are subpar I would recommend taking other security precautions. For example, you could purchase plywood sheets and shoot 6 inch nails through them. Attach them to the floor in front of all windows. Let the security and neighbors see that you replaced all items that were stolen. The thieves will be informed and return. When they enter the same window again they'll land on the nails. This will cause them to scream. You should keep a pot of boiling water in your bedroom on a small portable propane stove. When you hear the thieves scream throw the boiling water on them and handcuff them. They won't come back again. Hope this helps.

I'm glad that you are all safe, I'm sorry this happened. I similar thing happened to my Aunty's house in Ghana but it was worse. I don't go to in depth as it's a long story but it was a group watching the area and the comings and goings. My uncle is a vet and they have a number if big dogs. The robbers drugged the dogs so they basically fell asleep. My elderly grandmother was also in the house. The took £, $, cedis etc they had knives. Yes gated communities are a target. My sister was in South Africa and someone broke int her friends house which was in a gated community. My sister's friend is a single female living alone. When they were out the went into the guest room where my sister was staying. They only took make up (brands that are either expensive or not available there). When they reported it to the security they said that it has happened a lot and the landlord doesn't inform potential tenants or encourage them to change the locks when they move in. Not knowing the key open all the other front doors in that gated community. When I was in Ghana last year, I was saying with one of my cousins in a well known gated community. I noticed that there were workers in the house next door. I made sure that I was never outside talking as I was trying yo keep a low profile. I had to sleep in the house alone for a week. It was a new area for me, didn't know anyone in that area and I wasn't confident in getting around without getting lost.

Brutus Empire really is that allowed in gh?
@moretodela7 жыл бұрын
+Brutus Empire I'm not sure how safe it would be to have a gun but for our next place we are getting a dog. I'm terrified of dogs but it has to be done.
@brutusempire7 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure if it is allowed in gh but I know Robbery is. Even the cops try to rob her. They know people like you who move there are not the same. wouldnt be surprised if the cops did it and made more money to hire them. Be smart.
