Your exhibits would be very interesting in a night at the museum scenario

A snapshot into the life and death of this fish millions of years ago . A truly spectacular specimen, being able to see the prey predator relationship of two different species from so long ago is pretty cool. I love your alls shorts, and I know if I ever get to visit this incredible museum I could spend hours just exploring and learning.

So if they were wiped out from asteroids etc… how was its death so abrupt it couldn’t finish it’s meal? And nothing gets to sit around on the ocean floor… it is immediately eaten. It must have died and have been covered by silt exceptionally fast

Not every fossil was formed during the event you’re thinking of. In fact, there are hundreds of millions of years worth of fossils before that! It seems likely that these fish died when the bigger one tried to eat the smaller one, and then were covered rapidly with sediment just like you said.

The point is that this is the same species of fish eating another of its kind -- ergo, the definition of cannibalism
