Just a reminder Prehistoric Kingdom and JWE are two separate games with two different design philosophies and have their own unique strengths and weaknesses and that both games are/will be more playable than Mesozoica was. Also an addendum: that is truly a lovely roster.

At this moment, I would probably sum the two games up in these ways, in terms of their contrasting styles and production: 1.) JWE is about building a theme park, while PK is about building a zoo. 2.) JWE’s main challenge emphasizes keeping your dinosaurs happy and securely penned up, so they don’t break out and terrorize your guests, while PK’s main challenge seems to revolve more around both keeping dinosaurs happy and recreating their natural biomes, so the dinosaurs remain healthy and breeding for your guests. 3.) JWE emphasizes artificially manufacturing all of your hybridized dinosaur clones and bending their stats/behaviors to your will, while PK emphasizes breeding and raising your dinosaurs in their natural family units more. 4.) JWE has its dinosaurs looking and sounding theatrically like the iconic movie stars, while PK has the animals looking and sounding realistically like the... well... animals they were. 5.) In terms of the animal variety, JWE is under the constraints that it should include specific creatures from the books/movies, which can be a double-edged sword. JWE can uniquely market itself based on the appeal of memorable JP animals/moments like the Brachiosaurus, Rexy, the Raptor Squad, the venomous frilled Dilophosaurus, the Indominus Rex, the Indoraptor, etc. but its hands are more tied by the IP. There is still pressure to somehow incorporate the JW Mosasaurus, the Pteranodons, etc. as a higher priority, versus other types of creatures like Cenozoic mammals. PK is under no such pressure and constraints, so it has the freedom to even include creatures like the aforementioned mammals right from the getgo, in addition to dinosaurs. 6.) JWE is on both PC and consoles, while PK seems to only be planned as a PC release. 7.) JWE had a AAA budget but unfortunately a studio-rushed production, leading to a quick but incomplete initial release and reliance on post-launch patches/DLC, while PK was made on indie funds, but has had a lot more time to be slowly worked on and fleshed out before the much longer awaited initial release.

Alternate species (like Smilodon fatalis and populator) will just fall under their genus. Both Triceratops will be counted as Triceratops, but they will have different skins for each species. They won't count as their own animals, just a reskin.

In reality most dinosaurs were likely colorful, the recently discovered Caihong, had neon feathers,so color definitely existed in some species, others may have had browns and greens for cryptic coloration, to camouflage,but it is impossible to say without more discoveries like Caihong.

I remember playing Zoo Tycoon 2 years ago, and I think providing basic needs like food/water/biome kept the animals more healthy and happy, while attending to advanced needs like privacy/social/hygiene/enrichment made animals more likely to mate and be entertaining to guests.

Oh my goodness, so excited to see more from this! I was trying to decide my top five, but got distracted by the adorable babies, and then the mammals happened! You should download the buildcraft mod for your minecraft dinosaur series. Its like an industrial mod but one of the simplest and easiest part of the mod, is the quarry. You dont have to mine, the quarry will do it for you and give you all the ores it finds (including fossils)Yes its compatible with 1.12.2

I am saying it now this game will be one of the greatest if not the greatest dinosaur zoo game of all time. I personally can't pick a top 5 or sth because I know a lot of love and care has been put in to them to make them as realistic as possible. Not too mentione that some of the ice age mammals have colours based on cave paintings witch no other game has done to my knowledge.

This have more dinosaurs than all the dinosaurs in Jwe (without dlc). Also it have tons of skin, and the creatures are scientifically accurate. The exhibit are like the planet zoo ones, so you can make more type of exhibits. Very beautiful.

I must say that 50 animals for the release in early access is a more than satisfactory quantity, considering the dinosaurs and not only, also the other animals of the other type. I know I'm comparing it with that Mesozoic scam, but it's because my fears of another scam didn't go away, even if there are those who tell me that this time there is nothing like that to fear. However for the release in early access I hope that in addition to animals there are also more things to build than the demo, not just the habitats for the animals, to see the attractions that can be built, useful buildings, services, refreshment points , the shops, the decorations, and I am also looking forward to seeing the part of the aquariums and aviaries as structured. All these things, especially decorations, or benches, trash cans, street lamps, we forget them in Jurassic World Evolution. Another thing I can't wait to see, is the management of the staff, meeting the needs and requests of the park's guests, managing security and so on. I understand that in advance access there will not be just all the expected content, but I hope the same is not disappointing and that it was worth the wait after the Mesozoic scam.

I hope they shoot towards accuracy, like Saurian, and not exaggerated drama, like Isle. If they attempt to be accurate, i don't think most dinosaurs should have all of those rainbow colors, especially the almost blind but great smell ceratopcians. They should definitely shoot for accuracy in size. Theropoda could get huge especially for a carnivore, but many different groups of placental mammals got as big and some got a lot bigger. The only animals who should eclipse others should be the sauropoda of course.
